How I felt writing fiction for the first time in 10 years
In graduate school I dabbled in poetry and creative writing. Post graduate study and work was mainly geared around English Composition and Academic Writing. It was terrifying to write what I did and *share* it openly with my classmates. We had a bizarre rule where you could only share poetry anonymously and could not break that rule. I could never ask directly for feedback --it was passively given or not given at all. It is refreshing to be free to submit or not to submit and take ownership of my writing.
