So--took the class on a field trip today. We climbed a mountain.
Yes, really. We climbed Bald Pate Mountain, and the term "trail" only loosely applied to the upper half. There was a whole stretch where I made my group go ahead of me and we were holding onto trees to get up the hill and I thought I might have to catch someone.
As it turns out, I didn't! We made it to the top and it did NOT rain (as it's threatened all week)--in fact, I have a slight sunburn! Woo!
Of course, it's May in Maine, so there were a ZILLION black flies and TICKS EW. (But not on me!) Some of the kids saw deer, rabbits and even a moose! It was gorgeous.
And no one was hurt, lost or thrown off the mountaintop. I would call that a success. (Perhaps I will post some pics tomorrow or something.)
Then I came home, showered and had to be a hostess. My mother's cousin and her husband are visiting from Oslo, Norway and we had them up for dinner.
By the time desert was served, I started having to fight to keep my eyes open.
OH MY LORD I AM MORE TIRED THAN I CAN REMEMBER BEING EVER. Also, I *HURT* EVERYWHERE. My HAIR and my EYELASHES and my TOENAILS hurt!! Muscles I didn't know I HAD hurt!
In case it's not obvious, I do not climb mountains everyday!! >_< Ooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwie.
I am going to go collapse into bed and sleep for ten to twelve hours.
No, really.
