I don't think I ever answered you did I? oops. anyway here is your explanation, and you can fire away at questions lol there is a poem (my next entry if memory serves) that was written by a mother giving an explanation about how hearing a diagnosis of autism of her child was just different. like you'd always wanted to go to Italy (aka "normal" kid) and instead you find out you're going to Holland (aka "spectrum kid"). so anyway... we've known for years that conner is quirky. okay we've known more than that but it wasn't messing with school so I didn't push it. but since he is going to middle school in the fall and he is having more trouble now than he did before with keeping stuff organized etc, so I let them slap the label on, which kills me, but unfortunately in order to get any services you need a formal diagnosis. he is more along the lines of Asperger's syndrome (high functioning autism) but they changed the wording in the DSM to get rid of Asperger's and just have it all under the autism spectrum umbrella. but hey. I like him quirky ;)
