Top 10 Played Songs Meme
List the ten most played songs on your iPod / other mp3 player and explain why / how/where you got them.
1- Overture 1928 (Dream Theater) - Off the first DT album I got, Scenes from a Memory. Its a great song and one I've played a lot on drums.
2- The Dance of Eternity (Dream Theater) - Expect lots of DT in this list. XD An AMAZING instrumental with lots of time signature changes and what not. Wheee. Fun on drums as well!
3- Millenium Sun (Angra) - I randomly stumbled across Angra on youtube one day (brazilian power metal / progressive band) and fell in love with them especially cuz their drummer kicks ass. Ended up getting all the albums between Shane and I. This song just happens to be one of my favorites. Also has some fun drum parts to play.
4- Fatal Tragedy (Dream Theater) - A great song from a great concept album. More progressive elements here as well.
5- Breathe In (Frou Frou) - Probably my favorite all time FrouFrou/Imogen Heap song tied with "Must Be Dreaming". I'm just in love with it. She rocks my socks. <3 I first heard Imogen Heap through Cindi and got Details (Frou Frou's cd) from Lauren a year or so later.
6- In My Arms (Kylie Minogue) - Yay, Kylie! The first song I got hooked on of Kylie's was "I can't get you out of my head" but then I got a few more when I stole a lot of Lauren's music, this being one of them. Its a great song along with W.O.W.! Love dancing to it.
7- Spread Your Fire (Angra) - Another great Angra song. I need to buff up my chops so I can play more of their stuff. Crazy fast and double bass everywhere. x.x;
8- Pull Me Under (Dream Theater) - From their cd, "Images and Words". A great song and fun although simple to play on drums.
9- Nova Era (Angra) - Another great Angra song, yada yada.
10- Must Be Dreaming (Frou Frou) - Read the paragraph on Breathe In. :) <3 this song.
Well this list definitely shows my favorites, but doesn't give a good variety. I expected Dream Theater to dominate the list though. I should really have only taken the top song from each band. Actually I'll do that real quick with no explanations. :)
