Dragon*Con!!!!

My 5th year of Dragon*con is now over and WOW! It was non-stop amazing. May be one of the best cons I've been to. I got to hang out with all of my friends, my costumes went off without a hitch (ok, not true, but they worked out), and I got to party it up every night. Everything is going under a cut since there's a lot of pictures.

To start off, the best thing about this con, I think, is getting to see my girls again. I only get to see them once a year and I love them so much! We all really missed Sami, though. I think every moment someone was like, "If only Sami was here..." Can't wait to party with her next year!

Here's a picture of my roommates. The only thing is that Colleen is missing and the Joker isn't in my room (though she was very cool).

Their costumes were just amazing and they're always fun to party with. There's never any drama with us, which is the best part!

There of course was a little bit of drama. What's a con without drama? I got blown of repeatedly by a friend. I know he was dealing with shit and I feel for him, but it's still no excuse to just drop your friends. So the one thing that I was most looking forward to, didn't happen. But you know, all was not lost. Because I didn't get to do that, I was able to do other things and hang out with other people.

For example, a new guy. ;) Actually, he's not new at all. I had a major crush on him before I moved away but got over it cause I didn't think he even noticed me. As was revealed this past weekend, he's harbored a crush on me for years! Yea, I dunno if it's cute or sad. Maybe a bit of both. But we kissed and cuddled a lot during the weekend and it was wonderful. Can't wait to see him when I go home in December! I mean, this guy is actually making me consider moving back to Orlando!! But it's only a thought. Nothing serious as of yet.

As I said above, costumes were great. I didn't bring my camera, so any pictures that I have are what I found online, so here are just a few good ones.

My Madame Masque worked out better than it did at SDCC. It didn't give me as much of a head ache, though I still didn't get to wear it for very long:

I of course wore Pepper for a bit, but only a couple of hours:

That picture was actually taken because my friend and I were talking about Pepper's name and how cute that nick name is and such. So I saw the pepper thing as we were talking and held it up. She thought it was cute and just had to get a pic.

The Ironettes were so much fun. I love those girls! They were beautiful, energetic and so much fun to be around. It only sucked that we didn't get to hang out for very long. I did the costume every night which was cool. It was perfect for parties, especially the Wolf Pack Elite party where I was dancing on stage the entire night.

I was able to do the actual dance on stage, too, but it was kind of lame. Not many people were there and not many of my Ironettes showed up. We had one girl do a hoop dance to Highway to Hell and then I did the dance form the movie on my own. Because I was doing it on feet that were already in pain (I was on stage the entire night previously and it was already hard to walk then) I ended up hurting my ankle really bad. No one seemed to notice that I lost my balance, but I wasn't happy with it. I knew I didn't do as good of a job as I wanted to. But everyone seemed to like it and G4's Attack of the Show got it on tape (I also interviewed for them during the con).

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of my group:

Rescue was a hit. It unfortunately broke so the legs weren't attached to anything. Instead they were just sitting on top of my feet. You couldn't notice it, but it was really painful. But I wore this for the Marvel group shot which was fun and then the next day for a photoshoot with Just Stephens of Marvel.com. It was crazy when I did it with Judy because I really wasn't feeling well. I was in Madame Masque all morning and when I came back to the room to change, I collapsed in the bathroom. My knees just gave out! It had to be a mixture of lack of sleep and lack of real food, so my roomies and I decided to go out for a real lunch/dinner in the food court that night. But I had to do the Rescue thing first. During the shoot, I was actually falling asleep in the helmet! I had to cut it short cause I got all weak feeling again. But I think it was well worth it. Here's a few of the photos she took and you can see the rest on Marvel.com

Another big highlight of the con was getting to hang out with the Wolf Pack Elite more. They're a big sci-fi costuming group that's mostly based on the east coast. They're parties are the best! I know them from going to D*C so much, but just last year I was able to become an official member which I was very excited about. So this year I mingled with them at the pool party, did the parade with them, and of course danced the night away at the party.

The parade was definitely one of my favorite moments. The WPE always does a theme for the parade. They used to do Resident Evil stuff, but last year they did Road Warriors and did that again this year. My friend Abby let me borrow her Road Warrior armor since she had a new costume. I got to sit on the truck and yell and snarl at all the people watching. It was really cool and next year I plan to make my own armor for the event.

I'd say that about sums it all up. I think I've decided to skip WonderCon and cut back on SDCC this year so that I can fly out for MegaCon in March. I just miss the WPE and all my Orlando friends (not to mention a certain cute guy who's got my attention).
