The sad thing is... I was stopped twice in the last year -- apparently routine checks because I didn't get a ticket or a warning or anything--and neither officer pointed out that my license was set to expire soon, even when I told them I was planning on staying in the country one more year.... unless that was their so-subtle-I-missed-it hint. Which is quite possible as the one time was late and I was extremely tired, and the other I was heading home from work early due to ailings.

[sighs] I'm really actually pretty bummed about this at the mo. In between fits of just laughing at the stupidity of it all. My friends wouldn't let me drive tonight (when I drove us all home last night in the lovely weather we were having); my boss is driving me to work tomorrow morning and planning on picking me up again tomorrow afternoon (I work 45 minutes away, btw); and my coordinator doesn't know for sure what I'll have to do get renew my expired lisence. I'm hoping to high heck I won't have to retake the damn test since it wasn't all that easy to pass in the first place. I'm just... [huffs] It's so stupid. I didn't even *think* about "19" meaning *this* past April. That is one thing I definitely do NOT like about Japan... their infernal Emperor years on all legal documents and such.
