I may be missing a book or two, but after looking at Tabacoychanel's NINETY book list, I feel a bit ashamed of my snail's paced reading...
The Buddha in the Attic - Julie Otsuka
The Light Between Oceans - M. L. Stedman
How It All Began - Penelope Lively
Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn
Breed - Chase Novak
The Mark of Athena - Rick Riordan
The Serpent’s Shadow - Rick Riordan
The Likeness - Tana French
Broken Harbor - Tana French
In the Woods - Tana French
The Keeper of Lost Causes - Jussi Adler Olsen
The Absent One - Jussi Adler Olsen
Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore - Robin Sloane
Calling Invisible Women - Jeanne Ray
Gregor the Overlander - Suzanne Collins
The Emerald Atlas - John Stephens
The Casual Vacancy - J. K. Rowling
Dumpling Days - Grace Lin
Where the Mountain Meets the Moon - Grace Lin
Origin - Jessica Khoury
Wife 22 - Melanie Gideon
The Tiger’s Wife - Tea Obrecht
After the Fall - Victoria Roberts
State of Grace - Ann Patchett
I read quite a few mysteries this year, which is a departure from the norm. The Tana French and Jussi Adler Olsen books were quite enjoyable. But my all time favorite book this year was "Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore". I would recommend this to anyone. Delightfully nutty and fun and with wonderful writing. The ending was unexpected for me, but satisfying. Great, great book!!
