So I walked into the living room this morning, having heard the DVD player cueing up, and I saw a DVD cover slightly open on the coffee table. The picture on the front was in reds, yellows, and browns -- it kind of looked like a really blurry hand holding up a football -- so I idly asked my husband what he was watching. I hear him say something like "The Bruins".
Still curious about this Bruins movie, I asked him what sort of film it was. I figured that it was about a football team or something of that nature. When he answered horror, I blinked a couple of times and asked him where he had found a horror movie about bears.
I'm sure he made a face at me (though I didn't see it) when he said in a louder voice that he was watching "The Ruins". This is apparently not a movie about football or bears -- unless the doomed college students are running into bears or playing football in a Mayan temple. After I put my contacts in, I was able to tell that the face in agony on the front of the DVD cover was not wearing a helmet so I'm pretty sure neither of those two things were included as plot points.
