I made somewhat of a new year's resolution and decided I'd start to and learn to cook this semester. I made my first meal tonight and it is awesome.

I call it

( Pesto Pasta Extraordinaire )

props on stopping short of typing EVOO.

by the way, since you're indian, you might like this (my indian housemate and i do anyway) - after you make the pesto pasta as you described, put hot sauce in it.

yes, it sounds weird. yes, it gets you weird looks at noodles&co. yes, it's delicious when the pasta is so spicy that your scalp itches.

It does sound good. I'll try it with the leftovers. My dad puts curry powder in his pasta, it's pretty good.

I saw EVOO at Meijer the other day. Rachel Ray needs to STFU.

Haha, Rachel Ray. I feel bad for her - she's trying to make quick and reasonably fun meals for people, but comes across as a total fool and trashcan for all the other famous chefs. Plus, her voice sounds like cats being run through a broken blender.

Speaking of curry, I put green beans, sweet potatoes, onions, garlic, and crispy, seared ham in with curry powder yesterday (getting rid of leftovers, don't judge me, haha) and found that it tastes just like green bean casserole.

So, I put sour cream and french fried onions on it.
