Aten Coronation, Tressa, & General Stuff

We went to Atenveldt Coronation as Emmissaries of Goodwill from the Outlands.
It was a wonderful day both outgoing and incoming crowns were charming and seemed full of good energy and love for their Kingdom.

It was an especially good day for me because Atenveldt is what I consider home, I guess it was the place I came into my own in the SCA, and has remained close to my heart.

I didn't get to spend time with near enough people, I had hugs and hands and tons of people just grabbing me and saying "where have you been, when are you coming back, we miss and need you!!!" which was good for my heart.

The dress was a big hit too ;)

Tressa had been feeling better when we left, and within 2 days of my return took a dive again and is finally responding to the newest of medications. She has lost a ton of weight, scared me to death, and when she got sassy with me today I was secretly relieved. Her high fever caused an ear drum to rupture, it is messy and painful but the Docs say she will fully recover. Her system just took a dive from exhaustion and catching everything a kid can catch at school. She never gets sick so it has been scary and trips to the hospital or doctor every day (50 miles each way) have made it even more stressful. She is currently on the couch doing hoemwork catchup.

I need to don the Bee Suit and deal with the cattle and orchards here, but I am somewhat set back with a touch of my flu on top of all this, so maybe today is not the day to brave the heat.

The White Scarves in Atenveldt broke my heart. I can see them trying to be what their Order was meant to be, they did a very sweet ceremony with their own scarves being laid at the Queen's feet. I can see their struggle and my heart is with them, I wish I could do more from here. I was proud to see them though, that part of me, changed and educated in Ansteorra understands what the OWS is and what beauty the order can be. They are a few big steps ahead of the order here in the Outlands. These Aten scarves were dressed well, spoke with grace and conducted themselves as courtiers. The Queen is one of their community and I hope and pray she will keep their spirits high. The retiring Queen also seemed to love them, and if this trend continues, the OWS will grow and prosper. My heart and prayers are with them. I can't help but be forever tied to Atenveldt. That will never change.

Ok more later, I am starting to get tired. Bed and forensic files for me for now ;)
