No more glitches! (*knocks on wood*) [I thought I had the latest driver for my NIVIDIA video-card, as I just updated around Valentine's Day. Guess I was wrong after reinstalling DirectX for the 3rd time I decided to re-check the updates. No more graphical glitches! Though my RealPlayer has had the music shuffled-all-up in a weird order now.]

Now I ( Read more... )

Fat 'what-is-his-name' here we come!

Fat Larry. None of my characters ever talked to him. dev missed him and neither Sonjya or Kyrie are the type to go out of their way to talk to people. (Hence I missed a lot of side-quests with them.)

What the hell! I used up 56 shells and they still kept coming D:

Firearms - with the exception of flamethrowers - are generally not as effective against undead and supernatural as unarmed, disciplines, and melee are. It's a common complaint in both Bloodlines and Redemption that melee weapons are (unfairly) much better than firearms.

..and knifing the zombies is out-of-the-question -___-;

Really? I think that's what Sonjya did. That, and Thaumaturgy.

how does eating a vampire's brains work anyway?

If I'm not mistaken, the 'BRAINS!' think is a parody off of some B zombie movie. I thought it was hilarious, though incorrect with vampire anatomy.

I am having problems defeating him. It is shotgun vs. shotgun, also I do believe he is using Celerity too...this may take awhile --luckily I saved just before entering....

Took me a while to defeat him, too, though my problem was that dev was not a long-ranged fighter at all. I can't remember if I had Dementation leveled up to Vision of Death yet; probably not. In any case, I dodged around crouched until I lost him, turned on Obfuscate, snuck up on him with whatever melee weapon I was using at that time (knife?), and attacked him until he either moved too far away or my health got too low. Rinse and repeat. Not very original, but it worked. dev's not a brawler like my Nosferatu.

Taxi! [yes I know I am supossed to ride in them, not go car surfing...]

Hee! Use Auspex on the cab driver.

I'm the type that sees a fat guy with a afro and runs-up to him (and my Toreador has high Perseption so he would go anyway). Is Kyrie a male or female Nosferatu?

Odd. I was getting 12's with the bat & 42's with the shotgun, and I got 8's with my knife...then again I have I think a 5 or 6 in Range.

I thought it was pretty funny, but I loved how my Toreador just shoved it off and looked dazed for a second.

I'm more of a ranged person, and tried sneaking around and hiding behind the tables until I could get a hit in. Bishop Vick would just move so fast and wind-up beside me. So I got him in a corner and used the knife+Blood Buff for more damage, and Celerity to take less damage from being shot at.

I shall before I go see Dr.Grout!

Kyrie's a female.

That'd do it. I suppose if you focus exclusively on firearms, it's not as much of an issue. Then again, the bat is a really crappy weapon, especially against supernaturals; it's got a low maximum damage number and only inflicts bashing injuries.

D: The bat isn't good against supernaturals? Maybe that's why I had such a issue with the Asian vampire! I beat him with the bat, Blood Buff & Celerity.

I like my shotgun~

Bashing weapons do the least amount of damage to supernaturals (e.g., baseball bats). Lethal weapons (knifes, swords) do middle damage and aggravated ones (flamethrowers, grenade launchers) do the most. Disciplines are usually somewhere between lethal and aggravated as far as injury goes.

I only used firearms when I had to (e.g., I needed something to target something at long range and didn't want to use blood), but I did like the Colt Anaconda and the first shotgun.

I have a fire-axe now so I should do a bit better :3

I rely on firearms more than melee weapons or combat. I love the shotgun & I haven't gotten a different revolver yet besides the starting one.

After Ocean House, I could never bring myself to use a fire ax. Especially with that inventory description. >_>

Melee fighting took me a while to get used to, particularly learning which direction keys perform which special actions. I don't think I was proficient at it until Hollywood.

D,: I didn't even think of that! *flails* I was thinking of Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and the fire-axe in that...I'm a horrible person :(

I'm more of a press random keys and flail hoping to do damage since I don't use it too often.
