“I’m dead serious Nefrodiel. I know you’ve done a lot of growing up over these last couple of millennia, but I know every now and then you revert to your klutzy ways. Even then, you’ve grown up a whole lot and have become a quite decent time guardian. So even though you’ve made some pretty big mistakes when you were a newbie, I’m putting you in control of the master time computer for two hours,” was the sound of a female voice, one that commanded total and utter respect and obedience, “What I’m trying to say is… don’t mess up. I’m putting all my trust in you, that you will /not/ mess up in those two hours. You do, and it will be the end of us all, you hear that?”
A young girl, she appeared no older than 18, nodded her head solemnly to the owner of the commanding voice. “Mam, yes mam!” saluted the girl, “As my honor as a time guardian, I will not mess this up, Commander Melyanna!”
The other woman, much older in appearance, but whose name was apparently Commander Melyanna, smiled in return at the girl. “I know you will do your best, Nefrodiel. And I honestly believe you won’t mess this up,” replied Commander Melyanna.
“Of course not, I shall be the best time guardian you’ve ever seen!” answered Nefrodiel brightly her bright chocolate brown eyes meeting the emerald and sapphire gaze of her commander.
The multi-colored gaze Commander Melyanna just twinkled in response, “Well, I bid thee farewell. Once again, I strongly believe in you.” And without further more, the woman left the Master room, leaving it to be watched by a girl who others wouldn’t trust that well.
Once her commander left, Nefrodiel let out a huge sigh. “Man… Commander Melyanna gives me the creeps some times. I mean, she’s a great commander and all and her trust in me is remarkable, but she makes so on edge! So solemn! So serious! Doesn’t know how to have fun in her life! It’s always about work!” There was a shiver from the petite young woman. A life without fun and all about work was BORING. Although, working as a time guardian was pretty fun. It just had a lot of rules. A lot of rules that she had spent the last millennia learning. And now, finally she’d get a chance to prove them all she wasn’t a total failure! She would do her absolute best nothing happened at all during the two hours she watched the master time computer. It would run totally and absolutely normal. No problems whatsoever!
Just as Nefrodiel was thinking how absolutely perfect her time to watch the master time computer, things began to act strange. Random lights were blinking’ noises that weren’t supposed to be heard were being emitted. In other words, it seemed like the master time computer was having a meltdown. However, Nefrodiel did not notice these changes. In fact, she was too lost in her world about how she’d make all the other immortals proud of what she had done. It wasn’t until the beeping got ridiculously loud, did Nefrodiel shout, “Would you PLEASE shut up! You’re getting in the way of my dreaming of my absolutely perfect day after I finish this job!” Then she realized it. That wasn’t a voice, that was the…
“Oh my god… The master time computer!” squealed Nefrodiel in a panic, “What’s it doing!? That’s not normal is it!? Ahhhhhh… Oh my god!” Panicking like crazy, she reached out the rules and regulation handbook she always carried. Swiftly, she began flipping through the pages rapidly in an alarming fashion all the while muttering various curses in languages she’d picked up over the years. After flipping through the handbook for any help whatsoever, Nefrodiel realized that there was nothing in the handbook that could help her. That brought her even more into a panic. Something the handbook didn’t know about!? What was the world coming to!? “Okay… Okay… Nef, calm down. You did NOT break the master time computer,” said Nefrodiel still sounding somewhat panicked, “Just… fiddle around with the buttons and keys and everything will be all right.” Without any further advice for herself, Nef began fiddling around with buttons keys and plugs.
Unfortunately it only made things worse. The beeps became louder… The flashes became brighter. And Nefrodiel swore she saw neon green text going, “Warning! Warning! Meltdown! Warning! Warning! Meltdown!” But then again, that could have been her active imagination playing around with her. “Oh my God… Oh my God… OH MY GOD!!” screamed Nef a loud to herself, “I’M SO GOING TO DIE!”
And then she pulled a plug. An official looking plug. Then she was embraced by silence. All screens black. In fact, it seemed like the whole room became dim. Just for a moment, Nefrodiel let out a nice relieved sigh. Everything was nice and /silent/. For a brief moment, the fun-loving girl became peaceful. No problems… everything back to normal.
Then Nefrodiel Elestel, time guardian to the time and space headquarters of all possible universes realized she had just turned off the Master Time Computer. In other words she had stopped time. There was no possible way to describe the scream that was emitted from the girl. There was also no possible way to describe all the different ways she cursed. What seemed like a forever length of silence was in fact only 5 minutes, when Nef realized she had to plug the plug back in. And quickly, she did.
Suddenly, the room was filled with light. And the Master Time Computer began acting… normal. Except for the fact that there was a message on the computer screen that proclaimed, “TIME REBOOTED!”
Right at that moment, the doors to the Master Room flew open and there was a very angry looking Commander Melyanna escorted by many angry faces, including the council of the guardian of time. “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE CHILD!?!?” roared the Commander, “YOU REBOOTED TIME!!”
“I… I… I’m sorry Commander Melyanna!” sobbed Nefrodiel, “I’M SO SORRY!! I DIDN’T MEAN TO REBOOT TIME!!” But no matter how guilty Nef felt, that didn’t change the fact that she had rebooted the time. /She/ was the one responsible for messing up time. And she was SO FREAKN DEAD.
A Couple of Hours Later…
“I here by sentence Nefrodiel Elestel responsible for bringing all beings back to their proper time, place, and dimension. She will begin on the planet known as Earth in the year 2007. That is where the most disturbances have happened. After her sentence has been completed, she will be stripped of her guardian duties for 10 millennia for additional punishment for rebooting time,” rang the decisive voice of the head of the council.
A deep sigh could be heard the convicted girl. Her life was ruined. She was being stripped of her powers after she completed this mission. This would be her last mission. But last mission or not, she would do her best at it. And it would be a LOT better than this latest stunt she had pulled off.
“Any questions?” asked the head councilman.
Nefrodiel shook her head, “No, sir.”
“Good, then you start now,” commanded the head councilman, as he opened a time warp, “Walk through here and you will end up at a high school by the name of Miracle High on Earth in the year 2007 that has been… disturbed by these turn of events.” With nothing else to say, Nefrodiel solemnly walked through the time warp. Instantly, she was transported to said high school. In fact, she appeared right in the middle of a busy cafeteria.
