You are looking at the Anthropology Department's newest employee!!!
That's right, bitches, I got a JOB! Seriously, I spent the morning working on my resume, printing it, going to the SC and the library --- and all it took was one trip to the department. It was my first stop at Pray-Harold, and I was going to all the departments to apply as an office assistant, and I walked in, handed her the resume, and she gave me an application and when I had filled it out, she said "can you be here Monday at ten?"
I was all "Yes! Of course I can!"
And she said "good!"
And then I said "So, that means I have the job?"
"Yep!"
"YES!" And I punched the air. Seriously. I punched the air.
I may be doing office grunt work, I may be having to deal with kids coming in complaining about getting into classes and such, BUT I am OUT of the service industry! I am OUT of food and retail! I am FREE!
This, my friends, is my first step in obtaining my ultimate goal: working for either a university or a museum as a resident archaeologist.
:D
I've only been unemployed for a week! One week! Perhaps it was fate that on that day I was grumpy, perhaps I knew it was time to move on! And move on I have! But not just on, but up!
So guess what that means, my local friends (and yes, I AM speaking to
reah and
bookster523), you can stop by the Sociology, Criminology and Anthropology department mornings (8 am to some time that I'm not exactly sure of yet) Monday through Friday! (That's the seventh floor of PRAY-HAROLD!)
And, to top it all off, not only is my career kick-started, but my job is across the street from my Dorms! In fact, all my classes (and now my job) are across the street! That means that in the winter, I won't have to worry about my asthma as I'll be walking for about two minutes outside, max every day!
Now, of course I'll be doing more than that. I plan on walking the campus once a day (or there abouts) until the weather changes, and then also working out in the gym. I am DETERMINED to be 145lbs!
