Apparently. . .

. . . my patriotism doesn't win over everything. I'm rooting for Slutskaya over Cohen. Well, okay, I'm rooting for Meissner and Hughes over them all, but I would still rather see Irina win than Sasha. Don't know why; I just feel like Sasha's such an upstart prima donna. {shrug}

Yeah, her outfit was pretty tacky. I think she forgot that this is ladies' figure skating. ;) They also had a video clip of a Plushenko performance in which he donned a skirt over his pants. Silly Russians. That's at least one thing I could always count on Michelle Kwan for: a beautiful Vera Wang costume! I really liked Arakawa's. I also liked Meissner's a lot too.

I thought Slutskaya's music was okay, but maybe not the best choice for a figure skating program. And, at the end of the day, no matter how bad I feel for some of the Russian athletes (okay, I admit it, I almost pitied Svetlana Khorkina, until someone smacked me upside the head - one can only take sentimentality so far!), I usually end up being annoyed with their sense of entitlement. They aren't very gracious losers, are they?

Speaking of Svetlana Khorkina, did you know that she had a baby last year? What got to me (other than the fact that any male in his right mind would get that close to her ;) ) is that a month and a half before she was going to have her baby, she rushed to the U.S. and ended up having her baby in America. So now it has the right to full U.S. citizenship! Stuff like that sort of makes me mad - she disses our Olympic team, but then she expects us to welcome her baby as a citizen with open arms? Blech.
