I've read two things in the news recently that have made me despair of the future of the English language.
First, I read a story of a man who referred to being offended by "racial epitaphs." Um, unless he saw a racist tombstone, didn't he mean epithets?
Then, I read that Whoopi Goldberg, on The View, defended Michael Vick's dogfighting by saying that such behavior is "indicative to the South" where Vick grew up. Besides being a completely insane defense, didn't she mean "endemic" to the South?
Ugh.
