At this time yesterday, I was in cloudy, windy, drizzly South Bend Indiana; I had just gotten out of a lecture in Flanner Hall in which I listened to James VanderKam expound upon the Damascus Document and the Qumran Serekh and their place in understanding the Dead Sea Scrolls and first century Judaism.
Today, I am in New York City, where it is close to 70 degrees and sunny. My IPOD Mini and I just got back from a few laps around the Reservoir, and I feel so alive.
Traveling never ceases to boggle me - it's amazing how quickly we can get from Point A to Point B nowadays.
Back to Long Island for the weekend, then back to the city on Monday. I'm getting a new haircut tomorrow, and then I have two job interviews next week. I definitely intend to go see the St. Patrick's Day parade on Friday - I've already scoped out where I'm going to sit (I'm shooting for the steps of the MET). I spoke to a realtor about moving to Manhattan, so the ball is rolling there. In just a few months, I'll be an official New Yorker.
Provided I pass my comps.
