Okay, so I never wanted ASP to leave. I really didn't. It's episodes like this one, where I liked the plotting, for the most part, but thought the dialogue was at times a bit ham fisted, where I miss her the most. Like the Mitchum scenes, he just felt so much more over bearing than he did before. There was always this charm to Mitchum, while still realizing he was a massive manipulator and ass. Or the Patty/Babette scene which I'm guessing was supposed to be funny, but I didn't think so.

Anyway, onto the stuff I really loved, which was much of the episode.

The opener was so good. It felt like classic GG, maybe even RTTH, with the way it was shot and Rory riding shotgun. And of course the convo being about another of Lorelai's failed relationships. The shot of them walking down the road together was also fantastic.

I loved the FND and the mocktails and Richard complaining and Emily being flustered and annoyed at him. Massive love for the Emily/Lorelai scenes. Maybe I'm too optimistic, and so wanting of Lorelai to strike off on her own, but I loved what Emily said. I loved her admiration for Lorelai's independence. I've always thought one of the possible endings for Lorelai was her suddenly free of her obligations to Rory and heading off into the world to find out what it has to offer Lorelai Gilmore, that convo just really made that part of me tingle. I've always wanted them to somehow translate that she would come home to Luke, but get a chance to really find out what she missed by having Rory. Her guiding Emily through the I guess RRK remembered that she had Emily go to Smith in HKTCC? Heee! I think I'm not making sense, but I loved Emily & Lorelai and them being drunk and Lorelai trying to teach Emily how to keep up with all their investments. That was great.

I'm not a Liz & TJ fan, but I think TJ gave Luke sound advice, though he'll never follow it. Otherwise, well, whatever.

"If you're talking about anniversary of your birth, the anniversary of the day when this world went to a world without Logan Huntzberger to a world with Logan Huntzberger, then yes, I'm pretty into it."

Yeah, I loved that. It was so cute! Yeah, I ate cinnamon buns this morning! :) Rory makes anything that comes in a tube! LOL! And I loved seeing Henry, though I think he moved during the ep.

I just love them. I love how at ease they are with one another. And I love things like Rory making breakfast for them because it's a difference from Lorelai. It's one of the things I've always loved best about Rory, how she's different from Lorelai. But I think she's like her in the best ways, like the going overboard with fun birthday stuff. Which I ADORED. Also, she adaptable, like with the dinner. I have a feeling Lorelai might be upset.

2 observations about the whole dinner, which was odd. Alexis Bledel looked amazing and very womanly. I liked seeing her bangs, I like them. Also, that was the first time I ever remember Rory wearing a string of pearls. It calls to mind in LTGB, an all time fave of mine, when she tells Lorelai that yes, "they're going to dress me in pearls and take my free will," or something to that effect.

Mitchum trying to suck up to Rory was strange and creepy. But it was very interesting seeing him treat her as a very permenant fixture and the primary power broker in Logan's life. I generally love Mitchum, I didn't here, he was too mustache twirly evol. Though, I loved the continuity of Rory telling him she's been writing for an online magazine, I'm guessing it's for Hugo Grace. And Logan's ovbious look of proud adoration toward her when Mitchum was complimenting her. He digs his girl, and has always thought she was talented. I'm keeping it there, since I'm way too spoiled, and I don't want to suggest anything out of hand.

But in summation, Rory & Logan are love. And are of the good! Other people might think they're boring, I think they're perfect.
