So, do I start with the squeeful Rory & Logan stuff, or go for the C/L stuff? Not sure. I think I'm going to start with the odds & ends:
  • Paris taming the WOMAN KILLER Doyle might be the funniest thing ever to come out of Paris's mouth! BWAHAHA! Too amusing!
  • Interesting that PARIS would be talking baby names with Doyle. I don't see her as the mothering type. But it does bring to mind the drivel about how Rory can't marry Logan since that would take away from her career goals. Paris is just as career oriented, really much more so, than Rory has ever been. But she's obviously thinking about a future that includes balancing family & career, personal happiness with professional drive. Stupid closeminded people!
  • I didn't think Chin Chin's death was funny, at all. It kinda made me teary. I guess it's that I was devestated by Kaiser's death, and just the thought of Rommell dying makes me sad. I totally felt for Michel, and I thought Sookie, and Lorelai in particular were rude & dismissive. Would Lorelai not care if Paul Anka died? I think she would.
  • Though Zack and the Celine Dion was very amusing!
  • Logan, broken? BWAHAHA! Cause I totally called him whipped last week when the extended promo went up on the CW site.
  • LOVED the teaser. One of the better ones of the whole season.
Okay so episode generally. I feel bad for Chris, which is no massive surprise, coming from me. Yeah, he should have slowed the hell down and given Lorelai the space to figure herself out, but I also get that he really wanted this, has always wanted it and just really thought it finally was going to happen for them. It seems very him, naively stupid, not really seeing the whole picture.

I do think I clearly won my bet over this. I think the middle scene he clearly had made peace with the fact that this wasn't going to work, and he was just there to hash out the details with Lorelai. But because he loves Lorelai he's hoping something will happen to change the paradigm, but not very. Lorelai finally realizing her backup plan really was a mirage she'd built up in her mind, that was sad to watch. The whole thing was sad, really.

My main problem with Chris & Lorelai has always been Chris & Lorelai seem to think they and their relationship exist in a vacuum, like they don't have a kid. Neither of them. Lorelai only seemed to want Chris around when or if he could be her lover/potential partner, as if Rory didn't need a father. Chris just went along with that, not seeming to realize his kid, a great kid, was getting the shaft. They both owe Rory an apology for having put their needs in front of their kid.

On to Rory & Logan. I LOVED that he got actively involved in Paris's OCD plan for the end of Yale. Too cute. The beer bong was HILARIOUS! Such a Logan touch. I would pay good money to see him trying to teach her to use it, cause I'm just not seeing it, even with her having loosened up in the last few years. Plus, their phone convo was absolutely adorable. He called her baby! Awwww!

The crush was kinda stupid, but not anything horrible. I didn't see what attracted her to him right off the bat. Since they gave it no time to build. However I am thrilled to see I was spot on about what was going to happen. It's about valuing what you have, and staying true to that. We're always going to be attracted to other people, that's just human nature. But she loves him, just like he loves her. Therefore, what could be something, given time, wasn't. Dean, Jess & Logan all began as crushes on her part. They became more because she allowed them to. I think it shows how much she's grown up that she can recognize that she can be attracted to other guys, and still love Logan, and not let it really affect them at all.

I'm also not surprised by Logan's response. Or non response. Rory was completely open with him. Unlike how she'd been in the past. Which let him know there was never anything for him to worry about or anything to not trust her for. Unlike with Marty or Jess.

Yes, if they break them up I'm going to be pissed. It is now official! Because she deserves to be happy, not just get a great job. Unlike Lorelai & Luke who showed that love alone isn't enough if you don't communicate or work through things together, they have both sides of the equation. They love one another, trust one another, talk, communicate and work through issues together. Which is a novelty on this show.

LOVE THEM!
