In or Out - Ugly Betty

I'm pretty sure I forgot to post about my sadness at the deceit of Sofia. I had loved Salma Hayek as Sofia, not so much with Daniel, though I kinda liked them, but as a mentor to Betty. She seemed to see that Betty was more than everyone @ Mode saw, because she didn't fit their little stereotype of what someone that works at a fashion magazine should look like. And even though she said all those nice things at the end, they don't really matter, because of what she did. And that makes me sad.

But I loved this episode, so much. It might have been my favorite of series, thus far. Though I have a lot of love for the one where Justin goes to work with Betty as well.I might not be voicing a popular opinion, I'm not sure, but I love Amanda! She might be my favorite character on this show. She & Mark crack me up. I have no doubt that in a few seasons if she's still this shallow and snarky it will wear on my nerves, but for now she amuses the hell out of me. Anyway, her little rolling desk for Betty, HILARIOUS!! Trying to be Daniel's assistant, when she knows that Betty really is best for the job, also very funny. But her dilemma at trying to win Wilhelmina's trust, CRACKED ME UP! The facial expressions on her face were priceless. She so didn't want to do it, she loves Daniel, as much as she can love anyone not named Amanda. Also, does anyone know if the same actress played the mousy girl with the glasses last week that worked for Sophia. I thought that was her.

Hilda's cupcake company was also very funny. Her dad and the Asian woman, and his comment that their new company had put them back $273.oo, very cute. I loved Justin getting in on the act as well. I love all the Suarez's.

Finally, Betty & Daniel, who were so completely adorable this episode. I know in Betty la Fea they get together at the end, but till this episode I didn't really see that with this show. But I totally could when they were standing on the bridge looking back at Manhattan. Her going over to his place to make it nice for when he got home. Then him hiding in the closet, way too funny. I kept wanting to yell at him to *QUIT MOVING AROUND* if he didn't want her to catch him. And I have to wonder if she sent him to the Mystic Tan. That was also very funny, I'm surprised they didn't go back to him marking Wilhelmina. Also, he's such a good guy, which it's hard to see how he ended up that way coming from his family, since Alex seems no better than either of their parents; but it was cute him not wanting to demote Amanda, but you could tell from the beginning he really wanted Betty back. I got all choked up when she showed up for dinner with him, that was so sweet, not wanting him to be totally humiliated, though her being the one that showed up isn't exactly tabloid heaven. Him buying her a slice, so cute. And then the bridge scene which was so freaking sweet, and Amanda's handing the reigns back over to Betty. I know this is part of her scheme to get back in with Wilhelmina, but I still loved it, mostly cause I love Amanda and I could see how much both Betty and Daniel were relieved to have her back as his lone assistant, him not having to be shared.

Ends & odds:
  • "You just don't want to give up your little beard! LMAO! That whole scene was very funny Mark & Wilhelmina are so funny. Mark & anyone are funny.
  • Christina! Oh, I felt so bad for her. But then for all of Wilhelmina's scheming, I'm not so sure she's doing the wrong thing. If Bradford really did have Faye killed, then he deserves to fry. Why Alex had to become Alexis to have that happen, is beyond me.
  • ALEX@!! Rebecca Romijn as Alex or Alexis was NOT what I was expecting. I had assumed all along it was Faye. As I'm sure everyone else did.

Six Days: Part 2 - Addison's Anatomy

The whole George & his family thing hit really close to home for me. When my mom died 7ish years ago, we had to make that same decision, and my dad & I were the ones that sat and watched her actually die. My brother didn't make it in time. Even though you know they're not coming back, it's still hard. That was really well done, and really got to me. I did love how they mixed it up and had Cristina be the one that went to him and comforted him.
  • Addison + Alex = made of all things awesome! That didn't disappoint, I loved her hand pulling back at the end of the kiss.
  • Abortion storylines tend to make me uncomfortable. But I think Addison's reasoning was sound, though I think it makes her less sympathetic having gone back to the well.
  • I'm slowly warming to Izzie again, I liked what she said to Bailey.
  • I think the snoring, and her using that to try to break the ice with her dad was my favorite Meredith storyline since this show began. It was very cute, all around.

ga, betty
