Long update!!!
OMG people i am finally FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! No more work!!!!!!!!! Now it's all about rest and relaxation, catching up on my anime & manga, not to mention watching more soccer!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohooooooooo!!!!!!! I tot this day would never come!!!! Hahaha! I can sing like a bird! Well...more of a crow but wheeeeeeeee!!
Okay alot of things to update so i'll start from my last day of work. I ended at midnight exactly! So that means it was saturday a.m. when i left. Gahhh! And i was one of the earlier ones to leave!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe tat? Most of the other staff were still super busy when i left and i guess that most probably left at 1 or even 2 plus. My god...poor ppl. IBM really tortures them. LOL!
So i was really relieved that it's over, altho i'll miss some of the guys there. Much thanks to Xindy, who had to stay back, for letting me claim this last cab home. *Hugs* Poor girl had such a bad day due to many crappy orders from Australia. I tell you, for a moment, i tot the night would drag on forever! The workload seems never-ending! Gahhh! And it was made much worse at 11 p.m. cos my manager so helpfully reminded us that the damn WC match has started. I was cursing and swearing under my breathe and it felt like the lowest pt of the night. And just as i was stepping out of the office, someone suddenly announce that Argentina scored and i was cursing MORE! Ugghhh! Hahaha!
But thankfully, the night ended on a pretty good note after i left the office. I waited pretty long for my cab which i book, but it didn't turn up. So, losing patience, i went and took a cab from the road instead. And i met the nicest taxi driver you can ever meet! Omg!! It's so weird! You remember a few post back that i met a horrible weird driver, who seems abit loose in the head? Then i meet such a nice lovely uncle and it totally changes my perspective on cab drivers again! He was polite, nice, and we talk about soccer the whole way back. Hahahah see how the WC can unite ppl? We were chatting very enthusiastically abt teams, Brazil, who might win, who sucked etc etc. Hahaha and he was really funny. He made this joke about what would happen if Singapore hosted the World Cup.
It would be so embarrassing to announce to the whole world that the matches are held in places like Bedok stadium and Yishun Stadium. And that Zidane and Beckham would be eating supper at Newton's Circle, having char kway teow and beehoon. Omg it was the way he said it in such a localised manner that i couldn't help laughing. Plus he shared with me what most of the drivers do during WC and he would be watching some games in btwn shifts as well. All in all a nice trip.
And when i got home, i was just in time to watch the EXTRA time play btwn Germany and Argentina! Woot that means after 90 mins it was a draw and i got to see them play all the way to the PENALTY SHOOTOUT! I didn't even bath or anything at all until after the game. I just plop myself on the couch and watch with my darling mom, who waited up for me and pamper me(brought me red bean soup, told me to relax myself, watch the match with me...). Woohooo i manage to watch a penalty shootout! Hahaha me and my mom love it! I'm sad that Argentina lost cos i was supporting them abit more. Actually i'm not really a big supporter for either side. I just want to watch good football, but i was more favourable towards the Argentinians.
And today, i met up with Sharon, Bai Li and their 2 friends(Eugene and Sito) for high tea at the Hyatt Hotel! Wooooot!!!!!!!!! Fun fun fun! Good food and funny comapny! They're a really hilarious bunch to hang with altho alot of japanese were peppered in so i didn't know much of what was said at times. All of them took Japanese together. Cool eh? So they were relating alot of their stories to me. We ate till almost bursting and i tried 3 different kinds of tea!!! Jasmine Earl Grey, Shanghai Rose, and some Oolong tea. Ooohhh adventurous and bladder bursting! Hahahaha!
Afterwards, it's basically us girls doing some shopping, and in the end, only me and li were left to wander. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT I BROKE ANOTHER HEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?? OMG I SWEAR I AM CURSED!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone cursed my feet to break any heels that i put on. STOP THIS MAD VOODOO!!!!!!!!! This time it wasn't the strap, it almost broke IN HALF! OMFG!!!! I think i should avoid cheaper shoes and get more expensive & durable ones instead. So i had to buy new shoes from U.R.S. which isn't very comfy but it was the best i could find. And i got a major headache from jostling with the crowd so we didn't shop for too long. Hahaha we both can't stand crowds. Orchard on the weekend is like swimming in bodies man. Hot, sweaty, smoky, slow...Major hell! I felt pissed and crappy when i got home earlier. Bleh!!!!
Watching the match btwn England and Portugal now, and it ended in a penalty shootout. My god, England can't do penalties very well. WTH man England lost on penalty shootout! I sorta knew that they would be out sooner or later, looking at the poor way they're playing this WC. But part of me, the old part which was a huge england/Manchester United fan, was hoping they could still win the game. But reality check made me realise that their playing wasn't up to standwards and they were very lucky to have even made it into the round of 16. So it's portugal into the semi-finals.
Oh and how can i forget the biggest news of the day? MY SIS HAS GIVEN BIRTH TO A BABY GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took place on 1st of July which was yst(now it's past midnight) around 2 to 3 in the afternoon! I was soo stunned! My mom called me around 4 plus while i was having high tea and told me the news! My reaction was sooooooooooo loud! Hahahaha! But yay i'm an aunt...for the third time. Wahaha wow i feel old. ^_^
Gonna visit her today! Oooh can't wait to see the baby! My niece's name is Carmen. And would u believe my donkey sis, after being so exhausted after the operation, still called me and ask me about today's match result because the hospital doesn't have the WC channel. Hahahaha wah biang how soccer crazy can she get? She said she made bets so she wanted to know the results, so i'm gonna be watching both of them and sms her the scored. LOL! Crazy lah my sis...:P
