Cinnamon Rain

Jan 13, 2013 07:17

You were like a drop of rain caught in a downward race
From the soft grey sodden sky to the earth’s hard embrace
Delicate as crystal and as intricate as lace
Shining silver, spiraling with mesmerizing grace
Until by chance you came to land on my uplifted face.

I was shy without and you were secretive inside
Yet in one another we would happily confide
My devotion gave you strength, in your trust I took pride
And of all our joy together, only twice you cried
The first time brought us closer, but the last was our divide.

Oh please don’t remember me with pain or with regret
Remember me with love, my love, otherwise forget.
