Drink My Thirst

You see
And not because I’ve shown you
The lines I blur, the shapes I shift
The colors I conceal.

I’ll be
The weakness you are prone to
The seas you stir, the Sands you sift
In search of something real.

You can lay me low if it gets you high
If it makes you cry, no one needs to know
Drink my thirst and feed me with your hunger
Bleed me till I wonder if I will burst.

I’m bare
My body is your canvas
I keep my heart inside my chest
My mind inside my head.

You swear
You don’t know how I stand this
But once we start you’re so impressed
You take back what you said.

You can lay me low if it gets you high
If it makes you cry, no one needs to know
Drink my thirst and feed me with your hunger
Bleed me till I wonder if I will burst

And if it gets you high to lay me low
You can
If it makes you cry, no one needs to know
You can
Make me do the things you say
You can make me beautiful
Make me guilty and ashamed
But please don’t make me leave

my poetry
