Fashion show!
These past months I've been extremely busy with this fashion show we are trying to organize. As I told before I'm studying fashion design and this is our largest project during our studies, it's actually bigger than our thesis since all third year students from fashion-, textile- and footwear departments are taking part to organize this magnificent event.
Name of the fashion show is Off the Rails! and our theme is Underground. The show is taking place at Suvilahden Kattilahalli at Helsinki, it's the same place where they organized the last show of Finnish next top model! Date for the show is 12:th of may and it will start at 18.00 and last till 20.00, it is free entry so if you have change to attend you are warmly welcomed!
Each designer is making a collection from 3 to 5 outfits for the show. Originally I planned to make collection of 16 pieces (lots of accessories) but the time just flies by and now I only have 8 pieces done. I was planning to make 4 outfit for women and one for men, now I have 3 outfits ready and today I'll start to make the last outfit for women, I'll try to make the men's outfit too but it's quite a little time left and lots of things to do. Unfortunately it seems like there wont be enough time to make any accessories for the show but maybe I'll make them later.^^

I got inspiration for my collection from Indian mythology and myths. I love to combine sweet and scary things together so I'm using those elements too, ok u can't see it on this pics, but there will be some scary things on the prints and other decorations. For the materials I'm using lots of silk and wool, natural fibers are important for me. There is some not natural fibers too, at least the lace on the pants will be completely synthetic and the leggings are viscose. :(
In the beginning I was planning to use dark and bright colors together but now the whole collection is pretty dark, dunno if it's the Finnish melancholy or what! XD
Here's the collection, or this is what I was planning to do, now I've changed quite many things but I'll keep it secret.^^
There will be prints and some of the items are actually knit so the collection wont be this boring!
