Babies, guitars, sailboats
So Jesse and I decided not to have a baby next year, but to wait one more year. This is because we have SOOOO many other things we want to do, and we simply cannot afford to do them AND buy sperm. We are still disgusted with how expensive that stuff is when guys throw it in the trash or down the drain all the time, every day.
But, this summer we are going to do fun stuff just for ourselves! Sort of treat ourselves to some well deserved pleasures. I am going to buy a guitar and she is going to learn to sail!!!
I have been REALLY fucking bored. I have been bored ever since I stopped swing dancing, because I haven't found any new hobby to replace it. I've always been the sort of person who picks up a hobby, does it for a few years or so until I'm at the point where I don't think I'll get much better at it anymore, and then drops it and searches for something new. So this guitar thing has been poking me in the back of my mind over and over, and it's really what I want to do. But I just kept telling myself I couldn't afford it, and just kept being fucking bored with my life. So screw that! I'm just going to do it!
And Jesse and I came up with an amazing life-long dream last night. We both love the water, and we both love our paddle boat, and only bought it because we couldn't afford a bigger boat, like a sailboat or a motor boat. But eventually, we want to buy a sailboat. In fact, we've already picked one out! It's called a West White Potter, 15 feet long, beautiful little boat, and it's un-capsizable. Anyway, here is our dream (drum roll please): We are going to sail from Florida to the Carribean. On our own, not like on a guided tour. Isn't that fucking COOL? And SCARY? And ADVENTURESOME? God, I just can't WAIT!!
She's going to learn to sail this summer and then we'll rent out the little practice sailboats that they learn on and go sailing on those a bunch, then she'll take more advanced classes to learn to sail bigger boats, and eventually once we have more money, we'll buy our own, and she'll teach me everything along the way, so I can sail it too. And then we'll do tons of safe, short trips, and she'll learn navigation skills and open water sailing, etc, and THEN we will sail from the US to the Carribean, woo hoo!!!
And in the meantime, I'll play the guitar, how cute!
