Do you know the weirdest kinds of dreams? The dreams that take place in an area you know like the back of your hand, but don't make any sense at all.
Take last night. I was dreaming I was driving down Main Street Salem, turning at the Sheetz to go across the railroad tracks and head home. Only, at one point I get out of the car so I can throw it across the tracks so that it can get across before the train comes. After the train passes, I walk across the tracks to find my car and I pass by a group of kids who are digging at a pile of fallen rocks by the side of the tracks. What they're digging up?
The body of a jaguar that got caught in an avalanche.
It turns out, in my dream, that the Mill Mountain Zoo had a massive escape. And apparently it had jaguars.
And tigers.
And grizzly bears
And more tigers (Siberian).
Yes, I spent most of the rest of the dream getting chased by tigers. Most of the group of people I was with managed to escape the massive tigers by hiding in the Sheetz bathroom where I somehow managed to keep the door closed against the grizzly bear by pushing at it.
I don't even understand how this dream even works. The last tiger at the Mill Mountain Zoo was Ruby and she was old and is now dead. The biggest thrill at that zoo are prairie dogs. And yet I spent that dream trying not to get my head eaten.
Dreams are weird.
