I can hardly believe that I am approaching the halfway point of my pregnancy. Soon I should be able to feel the baby moving and kicking the wall of my uterus. It will be the coolest thing ever, I am sure. Right now the baby is already swimming around in my amniotic fluid and probably dancing to all the semi-loud music I've been listening to lately. But I just can't wait to actually feel the baby inside of me.
In two weeks I will have a fetal anatomy scan. It is a long and involved ultrasound exam in which all of the baby's organs and bone structures are accounted for. If the baby moves into just the right position during the exam, I'll get to find out if it's a boy or a girl. I am so excited to see ultrasound pictures of the baby because it will look like a real human being instead of the blob it resembled in my 8-week ultrasound. Hopefully all is well with the little one and I can continue feeling ecstatically happy about my pregnancy.
