Hamilton played after a draining Friday in which he stayed with his wife, Katie, throughout labor and attended the birth of his fourth child: Stella Faith. Hamilton admitted beforehand that he was "tired." He was not available for comment after the loss.

Manager Ron Washington said he did not consider giving Hamilton the option of sitting out to recover after the emotional day. Hamilton did not play on Friday. "We need him to help us win ballgames," Washington said.

Childbirth has disrupted the Rangers several times this season. Ian Kinsler missed three games in June while on paternity leave. Right-handers Colby Lewis and Alexi Ogando also took a paternity leave, forcing the club to shuffle its rotation. Washington said he agreed with all of the decisions. [Source]

And this says to me Ron Washington doesn't give a shit about his players at all. Ian, Lewis and Ogando were smart enough to demand the time off, but Josh is too much a hard worker and didn't do the same. He should have. He didn't help the team, he wasn't on task at all. I think Ron Washington is the worst manager in the league right now. For this and many other things.

In other news, I'm very happily becoming a football fan.

baseball: texas rangers, football: dallas cowboys
