I completely forgot to write about hockey.

So we have changed to this new rink. I don't like it as well, the ice is much different and the locker rooms are tiny. So this past Wednesday, rather than doing drills and such before, we just played an hour long scrimmage. Which was fine, I'd rather do that anyway. So we had three D on a side (and goalies! Actual goalies!) so we were rotating out. However the other two D on my side are both older ladies and so I would double shift and not mind. Now, towards the end, I'm getting a little tired, but it's not bad. Now would be the time to note that I'm not a very fast skater. I'm better than I used to be, but not as fast as some of the other girls. So I'm defending my net and wham next thing I know I'm down.

My very first Raffi Torres open ice check.

That thing hurt like a son-of-a-bitch. I play in a non-checking league, but things happen. I couldn't get out of her way fast enough and she wasn't stopping for me. So I landed on my hip and she landed on me. My whole hip, down my leg, was a bruise. And pain. I had the next day off, so I did nothing. But the following day, I went to both practice (just skate, not scrimmage) and work. By the end of the day I was in agony. It's mostly better now, just a twinge if I bump it. But I survived.
