The journey back from the year-end dinner was quiet; the special occasions’ large van that carried all the boys was oddly quiet even though it wasn’t that late that night.
Usually it would be filled with Eunhyuk and Donghae sharing random things or events they found funny and interesting, Yesung and Ryeowook trying to get the group magnae to practice their latest song for the last time for the day, Heechul complaining about his day to Hankyung or even to Kibum if the younger lad was interested enough that time and the leader discussing about the next day’s schedule with the manager while Kangin would be sleeping, having Leeteuk turning around in the van to shush the noisy members so to not awake sleeping Kangin and Sungmin would be holding a torch over a latest wine or language book beside a quiet Kibum, if undisturbed by Heechul.
If the members were tired, they would all be asleep, earphones plugged in with music on or even eye masks over their eyes. But that night, it was different; the atmosphere was awkward and too gloomy. None of them were asleep except Leeteuk, who had his head rested on Kangin’s shoulder. He was sick and Kangin pulled down the mask he was wearing because the labored breaths of the leader were unbearable to hear. None of the members would mind if the virus spread as none of them wanted the see the leader smothered to death.
Ryeowook who was seating beside Yesung hid his head in the crook of Yesung’s neck. Maybe he was crying again but Yesung wasn’t sure; the whole environment was depressing, he couldn’t pay attention to anything, he just kept his hands around Ryeowook’s frame, holding him close as he watched the reflection of Kyuhyun’s face in the window across the aisle.
Kyuhyun’s jacket was pulled tight around his body and Sungmin tried to lull the magnae to sleep but he wouldn’t so Sungmin just held Kyuhyun’s hand, a painted frown on his face. The shooting took longer than expected and Kyuhyun even tried out a few of the activities the day before that night and he ended up asleep along the way. If he wasn’t such a light sleeper, Kangin would be carrying him back to the dorm with Leeteuk hovering over every second telling Kangin not to drop the magnae.
Next on the other side of the aisle were Hankyung and Heechul who just looked out the windows with stoic expressions their hand in each others’. Tonight, the Chinese member wasn’t even on the phone talking to his parents in China, telling how much he missed them. He wanted to avoid crying that night but Heechul could see the tears rimming the Chinese’s eyes.
Sitting at the end of the van were Eunhyuk and Donghae, the usual noisiest residents but oddly that night, none of them spoke. Eunhyuk had his beanie pulled down and Donghae’s jacket was zipped all the way up that it covered his chin and lips. Eunhyuk looked away from Donghae but they held each others’ hands, tightly, not showing any sign of letting them go.
Shindong had his earphones in his ears but the music player wasn’t even on. Then Kibum had a thick book on his lap, opened, though he had been on that page since the journey back to their dorms started. The book was left untouched, gazed emptily by the boy. The only missing member was Siwon as he went home with his manager like always.
The one hour journey just continued without a single word from the boys but muffled coughs from their leader who was ill.

When the twelve reached their dorm, Kangin called a meeting; they all gathered in the kitchen, they formed a circle and sat down. Siwon arrived two minutes later than the others and joined the meeting too. It seemed that Kangin took Leeteuk’s phone and texted for Siwon to come over and spend the night at the dorm. They needed each other. Even the three from the other dorm joined them, no matter what, if needed to even sleep in the living room, the thirteen of them will be together that night.
The others didn’t want their leader and magnae to join them because they looked like they were in pain; they were the ones seriously injured from the latest accident and now Leeteuk was even sick. Though objected by the members, the two insisted to stay for the little meeting. When it was decided that the two were going to join them in the meeting, Hankyung got up and walked out only to return with Leeteuk’s medications and Kyuhyun’s painkillers.
The meeting went on, Leeteuk positioned near the entrance with Kangin beside him, followed by Shindong, Yesung, Ryeowook, Sungmin, Kyuhyun, Heechul, Hangeng, Siwon, Kibum, Donghae and Eunhyuk in the circle. They turned off the lights and the room was only illuminated with a small lamp in the middle.
They talked through the night even though some of them had schedules in the morning. Eeteuk unconsciously fell asleep because the cough medicine started kicking in. Kangin excused himself to carry the leader back to their shared room. They continued with their conversation; it was a deep conversation about all the possibilities and how, under any circumstances, would stay with each other as a family. When Kyuhyun started shivering beside Heechul, the older one decided it was time for the magnae to rest, he just recovered and staying up the whole night took a toll on the still weak body.
Kyuhyun refused too but, when the others agreed that they were tired too and they should end the meeting, he listened eventually and let Hankyung help him to his room. Heechul, the second oldest acted as the parent, watched from behind and made sure everyone was in their rooms. He would have tucked in the members but he wasn’t Leeteuk, it was not Heechul’s style so he switched off the lights of each room with a whispered goodnight before returning to his dorm with Hankyung, Kibum and Siwon. The TRAX members weren’t in Korea at the moment so Siwon would be sleeping in their room.

The next morning, the living room was filled with thirteen members all on the floor. Somehow all of them managed to fit the small living room, asleep with tears stricken faces, linked together hand in hand.

A/N : I’m sorry guys, this was written after I posted my Hiatus Break post last time, see, I got inspired then. So this involves emotion and tears. And no, I’m not no 13Only fan( I'm a F.I.S.H.!!) like the summary mentions, it occured after the Secret Camera which means at that time Zhoumi and Henry aren’t in it. Rest assured, they’re destined to be with each other, they are the Forever 15 Family <3
