I'm still here but busier than ever! Somehow my schedule has taken over and before I know it's Sunday again and I'm getting ready for another work week. I'm sure most of my friends think I am lost or something, nope just trying to keep up with life these days.
So let me see how to sum up....
M is playing Lacrosse and loving it. He is even playing with a broken thumb. Poor thing shut the truck door on it. But he was such a trooper, and really bummed at the possibility of not being able to play Lacrosse or go to Gym class. Doc said though to wear the splint he gave him every day and if he can get his glove on and it doesn't hurt, he is good to go. That was a few weeks ago. He is still wearing the splint but it should only be for another week or two. He also turned 10 last week. Man where has the time gone! He is such a young man now.
Though he still cracks me up daily....You're gonna love this one...
On his birthday he wanted me to make brownies for the his class instead of the usual cupcakes. So I made two pans of brownies and drove him to school. Figured it would be too difficult to ride the bus with a broken thumb, a back pack and two pans of brownies. As we are sitting at the stop light he pulls the visor down, opens the mirror and points at himself in the mirror with both hands and says "You're Goodlooking!" shuts the mirror, closes the visor and looks at me and says..."What?". I about fell out of the truck.
Anyway, as you can tell M is doing really well. Even brought home another good report card. I'm very proud of him.
Tom is back on day shift now. We are stilling working out the kinks of a new routine. He is taking M to all his Lacrosse practices and such. M loves having his Dad home in the evenings. Tom is tired and trying to get used to the new hours. Getting up at 4 am sucks so I try not to stand in his way when he heads to bed at 9 pm.
SCA we are trying to mix events up with M's sports schedule. So we can try to attend some events. I've missed quite a few events that I would normally go to because I was taking M to one of his games. We are going to Coronation and Blackstone Raids this month though. We have also started trying to schedule a few months in advance what events we are going to.
Sewing, haven't had the time, and when I have, I just have been to tired or lacked the creativity to do it lately. Hoping to get that creative spark back soon though. Pennsic is just around the corner!!!
TKD, been going pretty steadily the last couple weeks now. Its the only way I stay sane these days. I have worked a few times with Master Yu and I really like him. He teaches differently which has increased my awareness on how I'm doing some of the moves. Tonight my tornado kicks were better than they have been in ages.
Work - work is sucking the life out of me! or should I say DAU is sucking the life out of me. Defense Aquisition University. It's like getting my degree all over again. Ugh! Still no news on my raise/promotion in June. They are still working on it. The good news though is that by April 20th I will once again have a full staff. I am so happy! Now I have to figure out how to get the new girls trained. Michelle and I are meeting this week to put together a training plan. Man I sure will be happy once things settle down there. My main project should be finished and out the door by Thursday, which will allow me to resume work on the other major project that pushed to the back burner when the PMs decided they forgot to add something in the first one and I had to move around a bunch of stuff. Anyway, Then I can work on the back burner project and perhaps get my "Pet" project done... I have a vision for the overall program budget, I just need time to get it put together. Time that DAU, Major Project, PO drills and various fires have taken away from. But having a full staff and that one project gone will go far in opening up some time to complete it.
So that is all that I have at the moment. I leave you with a pic of "You're Goodlooking M!" Taken before one of his Lacrosse games.
