Where do I begin?
This past weekend was pleasant. M had his final basketball game saturday afternoon. Poor guys lost again. They only won 1 game the entire season, but they played their little hearts out. Now he starts Lacrosse. So the schedule gets shifted again. We have TKD - Mon/Wed, and Lacrosse T/TH, and occassionally I go to TKD on Fri for the Black belt class while he plays with the other kids. So the week schedule is just as busy as it was before. Man I'm tired just looking at it. The good news is that Tom is switching to Day shift which officially starts when he gets back from Gulf Wars. So this should alleviate my schedule a bit. He plans on taking M to his Lacrosse practices once he has switched. The schedule change also changes my work schedule. Because Tom was working nights he was home so M could take the bus to school in the morning, now I will need to change my schedule so that I am home for him to get on the bus, making my work day start later and end later. (not that I left when I was supposed to as it was). I rarely leave at 4/4:30, its usually later, I just made sure we could make practices. So anyway, I will get in between 8-9 am versus 6:30/7 range. Sigh oh well, life with only 1 CSS is going to a pain anyway and I was looking at having to stay later as it was. Actually it could work to my advantage this going in later thing...I tend to get more done at home in the morning verses at night. So I had planned to still get up early, though not at my normal 4:30 time, more like 5am. The plan is to take a load of laundry down and start it, then get my work out in. Switch laundry again when workout is done. Do some quick dinner prep for that night/ make sure meat or whatever is taken out to thaw. Eat my breakfast and then head back to get ready for work. I will get my first attempt at this schedule when Tom goes to Gulf Wars. M used to be in a morning care program before Tom went to nights, but there are only so many slots available. Plus it costs a ton just for M to sit in a cafeteria before school and do nothing. He absolutely hated going. I decided to save the money and have a happy kid.
The rest of Saturday after the game was spent with some gal pals. We had a good time. Sunday I headed up to Fall Church for time with Wonder Twin. We of course went shoe shopping. I finally got my leopard print heels!!!! They are fabulous!!! and will look hot with my brown skirt suit. or with my dark brown slacks, and they are absolutely drool worthy with jeans. HOTT hot hot hot!!! Here is a pic of the shoes when I was trying them on, but will have to get a better pic later.
We had a good time but had to cut time short when it started to spit snow up there. Shortly after I left I got a call from Tom asking me if i had left yet cuz it was snowing its ars off at home. Oh man, that sucks, should be an interesting drive home then. Well the drive that normally takes me about 1 1/2 hrs, took me close to 3. By the time I had gotten home the main road that most drive at 65-70 mph was going about 30 mph. The plows were out, but the roads looked as though they were untouched because it was falling just that fast. I did make it home and school closings were already posted. About 10pm we lost power. We didn't get power back until about lunch time the following day. We didn't get internet or cable back until about 4 pm. I did venture out a bit yesterday. We were in need of groceries and a toaster (M broke the one we had for over 15 years). The main roads were okay, but the side roads were still crap. I got home to put away the groceries and opened the freezer to put my purchases in and found something leaking....umm ok, there shouldn't be anything leaking. So further investigation finds that someone has turned off the freezer portion of the fridge...what? So 2 1/2 trash bags full of ruined food went out to the trash, including five 1 gallon size bags of my home-made ravioli. Sigh... oh well, it happens. I finally got everything cleaned up and checked email again and found that they had closed schools again tomorrow. I considered going in early and then coming home in-time for Tom to head in to work. But after watching the news and thinking of the possible re-freeze of the already craptastic roads, I sent off a message to my boss saying to call me at home if they needed me. I did some other stuff and started my personal WL journal. Then finally headed off to bed.
Today started with my work cell rining first thing this morning. My boss was calling me on his way in at 8:15. We talked about a few things and then I started my day. The day was spent working emails, doing laundry, dishes etc, that is until the power went out again around 2pm. We finally got power again around 5pm. So here I am checking emails again and working on laundry and dishes and makin some yummy spaghetti sauch with italian sausage.
Oh and here it is the first pic ever of me in my black belt! This was right after the test and ceremony.
