Kini: The crisp white jacket with the black pants and the belly button: kill the belly button. Belly buttons can make fashion statements, I guess, but this just looks gross. And the finale dress? Oakland Raiders Offensive Tackle.
Amanda: I did see the collections walk, and when I watched Amanda's, all I could think was, Why would anyone do a whole collection in mud-brown and black? That's not strictly true, but the tiny pops of color here and there were not enough to stem the flow of mud-brown. There are warm and cozy browns; this was nasty. It was like being caught in the aftermath of a bad flood. FanSee
Yes, thank you!! I was actually going to comment on that but then there was so much to say and all of it negative - but this is just so true.
Oakland Raiders Offensive Tackle.
Bwah!! Yes, it was awful.
Amanda's brown really was ugly, wasn't it? Brown is one of my fave colors - I'm a fall and a dark chocolate brown is among my favorite fabrics on me - but Amanda's fabric somehow caught the light wrong and seemed to get all... yes, muddy, exactly.
I should have written comments last night after watching the show, I had plenty to say. Today I not only can't remember much, but seriously, there was not much TO remember

how did she make it to fashion week? Only because almost everyone else was equally bad.
And that the whole show is completely contrived for a determined effect now, instead of letting the contestants set the direction.
Has Tim completely sold out, or has he lost his perspective? Where is his vaunted judgment. NOBODY on this earth could actually believe that these folks are good designers! I loved Jay McCarroll, Chloe, LeAnn, CHRISTIAN; and I liked Mondo and a few others. They are designers amd most of them can also sew. Have the judges gone not only blind, but have they all got Alzheimers?
OMG THIS SO MUCH. The only thing that got me excited - in a bad way - was when Tim started in on how these designers are the BEST EVER in the history of the show! Mondo? Jay? Hell, even Wendy, she at least had a ton of talent! What happened to this show, seriously? Sold out. Too much money to be grabbed. Product placement has won.
I noticed a big lack of fashion icons in the audience. I didn't

I forgot all about Kini, but considering how forgettable his collection was, it's not surprising. I did favor him all season, but mostly for his personality and his talent for tailoring. Wish Tim had dissuaded him from using denim, which is great for jeans and jackets, but not much else. His denim coat was pretty but just too-too, so it's good he deleted it. So sad that he got sidetracked somewhere along the line. The positive audience reception he got was also, IMO, for his personality.
Just now went to see the fake collections, and was not impressed with Emily's - all see-through, unwearable crap. I did like a lot of Fade's clothes, which were in fun colors and prints, and seemed fashionable but mostly too casual for Fashion Week. And the writing on some of the outfits looked silly.

Really, what has happened to Tim? remember when he used to use all kinds of vocabulary none of the designers understood? That sort of thing made clear he knew his shit. In S4, remember when he showed up to Chris's house and gave him the "Monkey House" speech? That was rough, but it was a really important thing for Chris to hear, and while he didn't exactly dump the human hair, he did modify it to more palatable levels. Where was Tim's tough love when Kini really needed it?
I liked the blue pieces in Amanda's collection, but hated the browns and black. Also I love a maxi dress. I probably wear them all summer. Maxi dresses are usually flowy and comfy. Hers all look heavy.
I've been calling Kini's collection Kardashian for Sears since I first saw it. It is butt ugly.
All of Amanda's brown and black pieces were very bovine - in cut and general look. Just not good. I love maxi dresses too! I'd love to wear Char's in that gorgeous fabric she had - that was a nice dress.

when Tim told the designers they were THE MOST TALENTED BUNCH EVER ON THE SHOW OMG... at that point I just didn't know if I should laugh or cry. I literally yelled at my screen. I think it's the MOST ridiculous statement I've heard this season

Yeah, that was bad. I would have yelled, but I was already pretty drowsy at that point. My eyebrows just shot upwards.
actually got a strong 'Kim Kardashian' vibe from this collection which was MAYBE what Kini was aiming for BUT I suppose even KK herself wouldn't be wearing those garments these days, esp not when she's gracing the cover of American Vouge
Kim Kardashian makes me ashamed of my fellow countrymen who give her any attention; and the sycophants who serve their awful tastes. But then we've always had empty-headed idiots with too much new money. I expected more of Kini than to pant after that crowd, he really disappointed me, but I should have seen it all along. Oh well.
Amanda- The new DVF? um... not really, Nina. Meh, I wonder if that's just more product placement - DVF is a new show on Lifetime, you know. Did Nina really say that? It's amazing how far
