Tee-Vee Stuff
I finally watched Heroes S2, and I was less than moved by it. I loved the Claire moments, but there wasn't enough Sylar, and WAY too much Matt. Hiro's arc bored me to tears. The new characters were... boring.
New shows I'm excited about this fall: 90210 (oldies vs. newbies), The Mentalist (Veronica's back) & Fringe (Pacey's back)!
Some thoughts on the show that still owns me, news about S4 spoilers and a poll for good measure below the cut. Feel free to scroll past my rambling and head straight for the poll. ;)
The fact that Sara Tancredi has been resurrected for S4 is pretty old news. But, I haven't discussed it, so indulge me. It was about the time that Lincoln thought what he saw in the box was Sara's head, that I stopped watching S3. I wasn't excited about the way S3 was going anyway, and that little diddy left me even colder. The writers don't seem to have much respect for their female leads. All you have to do is listen to the DVD commentary of them joking about offing Veronica, adding her to a death count they seem very proud of. Now, I do remember them saying there would be casualties to main characters. So, I'm not silly enough to think that the story lines for Nick, Veronica, Westmoreland, Tweener, and even Abruzzi would have much teeth once the boys broke out. But, why are the women who are killed on this show always dismembered? Was this a personal response to SWC's pregnancy/contract issues? I haven't watched S3 in its entirety. But, I have been spoiled, so don't feel you have to tip toe around it. I plan to finish the season before S4 starts, I'm just not that motivated. Can you tell?
About the upcoming season... the show is moving to the 9:00 slot. So more violence and hopefully sex skin perhaps? I'm excited about Michael Rapaport coming on board. Just watched him today in Deep Blue Sea. PB is going to be bumped again in 2009 for 24 and some other show. Another 4-month hiatus. Yeah, what else is new?
This news made me perk up. According to Buddy TV, Michael is getting his tats removed this season. What? It never even dawned on me that they would address this during the series. And, how are they going to address the logistics of this (time being a big one) considering he's on a strict diet of finding Sara and bringing down the company? Considering the show is jumping ahead, will the removal process be flashbacks? Will he have the entire front, back and sleeves removed? They do realize that even with laser treatment, his body won't be a clean slate. He's got some serious ink on his torso! One plus is that he doesn't have any colours in his tats, other than black. I'm curious to see how the writers deal with this. I'm sure Wentworth is happy to see the tats go, so the writers can spin it whichever way they want as far as he's concerned.
I have a tattoo (a dolphin on the back of my left shoulder). It's discreet and I have no plans to remove it. They say that laser removal feels like a rubber band rapidly snapping against your skin. That sounds a hell of a lot more painful than it took to get the ink in the first place. But then, Michael does have a high tolerance for pain. ;)
