The Scottish Play Debuts!

Happy New Year, everyone! As always, things have been better with work, family and my other extracurricular activities. At Mission San Luis, the unseemly warm winter we've been having makes it very easy to be cheery outside, but I wonder if the 70-degree weather is going to affect the garden planting we start to do in February. At home, Mom & Dad are adjusting to their new routine as Dad continues recovering from his heart attack/stroke combo with remarkable good humor and patience. Go DAD!

And tomorrow -- Thursday, Jan. 8 -- it's preview night for the Capital City Shakespeare production of MACBETH!! If you're in the Tallahassee area and want to get in for half price ($8 general public, $6 students/senior citizens), tomorrow is the time to see it. Beginning Friday the show will go forward at full price ($16 gen. public, $12 students/seniors). Here's the schedule of performances:

Friday Jan. 9, Saturday Jan. 10 -- 8:00pm curtain
Sunday Jan. 11 -- 3:00pm matinee
Thursday Jan. 15, Friday Jan. 16, Saturday Jan 17 -- 8:00pm curtain
Sunday Jan. 18 -- 2:00pm matinee
Monday Jan. 19 (MLK Jr. Day) -- 12:30pm matinee

It's general seating at our stage -- the Young Actors Theater at 609 Glenview Drive in Tallahassee -- and the auditorium opens up a half hour prior to curtain. So I recommend getting there a bit early in order to get the seating you desire.

I'm really very pleased with how the last few dress rehearsals have been going. We've got a very strong cast, and the cut of the play is such that it clips right along nicely. Of course, the costumes are fantastic, and the actors look great! So please join the audience and cheer us on properly if you can!
