While I'm at it ...
I'll be doing my CIPD course in London. It was on hold while they figured out if there would be enough people to do it in Maidstone, and I decided last night that I'd rather do it in London. The centre is a half-hour (I think) walk from Kings Cross, the journey to which would take me an hour and cost me £30. Driving to Maidstone in rush-hour traffic would probably take well over an hour each way, and cost me about £20. The train journey will add two hours of enforced reading/studying/relaxing time into my day. And finally, the centre in Maidstone is actually most of the way out of Maidstone; it is highly likely that everyone will be driving. In London, it'll be a lot more practical to meet up with course-mates for chats and drinks afterwards.
AND - I'll be able to meet up with friends in the evenings! :D That was quite a big factor. This thing is likely to take a large two-year chunk out of my social life, and if there's an option that allows me to meet up with Lovely Friends at the same time, that really has to be the winner.
