What is it about Thursdays?

Have just had a very strange walk into town and back.

- On the way there, I ended up walking down the same street as a couple of 17yo-ish pikeys, who appeared to be on acid. It certainly wasn't just Dr Pepper in the bottles they were carrying! One of them said to me (for no obvious reason, I might add) "oh, don't mind him ... he's gone!" ... yeah, I can see that, why do you need to tell me? I realised as they walked past that the reason he was slurring so much was actually due to a lack of front teeth.
- The adverts in the Burton shop window. One man, five pictures of him the same suit, in different poses. "Choice of styles, choice of sizes." Why don't I believe you?
- Ann Summers has its fire extinguishers right by the front doors. Do they expect people to spontaneously combust as they walk in?
- Drama students, one of whom was dressed as Freddy Krueger.
- Fifteen or so high school students in matching t-shirts and neon items (socks, bangles, hats etc.) doing a dance to Michael Jackson - Bad. I left as soon as possible.
- French Connection's advert. One on side: three male mannequins and the caption "THIS IS THE MAN." On the other side: three female mannequins and the caption "This is the woman." For some reason I found this a little bit offensive.
- A cafe with a billboard outside announcing that "Cupcakes make everything better".

I feel glad to be back now. The outdoors is scaring me.
