Last two dream ficlets!

Late is better than never...I hope.

For
red_squared, Yohji and Omi/Mamoru, short shorts. This turned out darker than I planned.

There is a boy. He's wearing shorts. He doesn't look like an elementary school kid, though. He looks like jailbait.

"Get up," the boy says. "What's wrong with you?"

Ryou doesn't know what's wrong with him. He doesn't know where he's supposed to be or what he's supposed to be doing. But the boy told him to get up, so he gets up.

There's a wire wrapped around his wrist. It's tight, digging into his skin. There's a faint line of blood welling up just under his thumb joint. It hurts.

"It hurts," he tells the boy.

The boy blinks blue, emotionless eyes at him. "Of course it does," he says. "That's how you know you're alive."

The wire is attached to something. He can't tell what. He tugs at the end, and feels the weight, like a fish on the line. A dead fish. "What is it?"

The boy shakes his head. "Leave it," he orders.

Ryou lets it go, but the weight still pulls on the wire, and Ryou knows eventually it will cut straight down to the bone.

For
lauand, Hakkai and Gojyo have been around the weird so long that the normal rings false:

When Gojyo woke, Hakkai was lying flat on the bed, his hand over his stomach. His breathing was steady, but Gojyo was fairly certain he wasn't sleeping. "Hey," he said. "You okay?"

Hakkai's chin dipped slightly. "I had the oddest dream," he said.

"Yeah?" Gojyo pushed a little at Hakkai's side. "Sexy dream?"

Hakkai chuckled. "No, nothing like that. We were at the house. I was washing dishes at the window, and you were mowing the grass."

Gojyo dropped his head back on the pillow and stared up at the ceiling. "That...sounds boring."

"It was," Hakkai said. "Quite ordinary."

"Something wake you up?"

A second chuckle. "The whole situation was so unfamiliar I realized I had to be dreaming."

"Hakkai," Gojyo said, frowning. "Last night you said you dreamt that Jeep had turned into an elephant and we all rode on his back."

"Hmm," Hakkai said. "Yes."

"That didn't seem unfamiliar?"

"Well," Hakkai said. "So many things have happened...well, that's what's ordinary now, isn't it? The bizarre. That's how I knew an ordinary day couldn't possibly be real."

Gojyo sighed. It made perfect sense. Not even Hakkai sense, real sense. "Yeah," he said. "I get it."

"It's rather funny, actually."

"I guess so," Gojyo said. At least it is if you're Hakkai.
