1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!
chomiji picked:
Brad Crawford from Weiss Kreuz. Probably the closest to pure sociopath a character can come and still have me enjoy him. The image is from the manga, which is why he's so purty.
Duo from Gundam Wing! He is my absolute favorite from the series (followed closely by Quatre.) Sometimes I ship him with Heero and sometimes I do not, but this icon makes me laugh every time. I use it whenever Shakespeare comes up too.
Captain Kirk from the original Star Trek series. Some of my favorite episodes are the ones where Kirk's forced to play straight man-- The Trouble With Tribbles is my absolute favorite (and so many others') for this reason. I'm not sure which episode this is from, but Shatner does a damned good facepalm.
Renard from
Gunnerkrigg Court, a webcomic someone recced to me ages ago. It is brilliant, passes the Bedchel test early and effortlessly, and is actually getting more interesting-- and answering some questions about the comic's central mystery-- as it goes on. Also, as
seaskystone pointed out, Adorable Renardine is adorable!
This is the first icon on the list I've made myself, and I thought about cropping out the panel line on the left, but I decided I liked it better this way.
Watari Yutaka from Yami no Matseui. I have pretty much always had a Watari icon since I watched the anime back in the day, because he is total and utter win. I made this one myself too; the words are from a Photoshop brush, but I thought they worked well with the image.
Ageha, the youngest and most adorable of all the angsty vampires in the Japanese drama Rh Plus. It is a sparkly vampire show in the best sense, where it's all sort of absurd but everyone seems to be having an awfully good time. (And, you know. NO ONE LITERALLY SPARKLES because that's just stupid.) Did I mention the whole series is on
YouTube? (And, you know. We might be able to set you up with downloads.) This image is from a Japanese promo site
daegaer found. It's my go to 'thumbs up' image.

This is the Log Lady from Twin Peaks, and if you've never seen Twin Peaks, yes, everyone calls her the Log Lady, she carries a log around constantly, and the text in the icon? Is actually what she says on the show. She's used in small doses and helps add to the surreality of the whole series. I love Twin Peaks.
This is Itachi from Naruto, who's not impressed by much of anything, much less your silly comedy routine. Maybe my favorite Naruto icon ever. I really like the way his cape is blowing dramatically.
Donatello from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, facing one of the chronic challenges of a career in tech support. Amusingly, I wrote a TMNT fanfic ages ago where Don did do computer support over the phone, so I laughed like hell to see him doing it in the TMNT CGI movie.
This is one of my older icons, of Ed being reluctantly dragged away from...well, something. Al's habit of saving Ed from himself is one of my favorite things about Fullmetal Alchemist. (Also, I am behind and know some of you are not, so if you have something spoilery to insert here KEEP IT TO YOURSELF OMG.)
This image was doctored from the art of my
purimgifts story last year, which was a hilarious Arrested Development story you can find
here.
chili_das_schaf made this for my by request. It's the dumbest in-joke I've ever committed to print, from the
Ranverse. Nagi and Mamoru are trying to name their new team, Mamoru suggests 'grey' in German (all the team names are in German in Weiss Kreuz, just roll with it), and Nagi snaps that "Death Kittens from Outer Space" would be a better name. So the team gets called DK, and I got myself a "Kitten of Death" icon. :D
Also,
save_liz is afoot again and THERE ARE ALOE PLANTS. ALOE. (And some other cool stuff too!) Liz is for real, guys, so anything you can do to help out is appreciated.
