On The Razzle!
Ye gads, it has been AGES since I've updated my LJ on things that have actually been happening. And On the Razzle! I don't think I've written about it since I got in!
So. As I may not recall, I am a customer/parader/waiter/ragamuffin. Hooray! Just a note on who else is who: Rob is Weinberl, Ashley is Christopher, Blake is Melchior, Tyler is Zangler, Conner is Sonders, Lilian is Marie, Ella is a customer/French maid, Matt is a coachman/Belgian foreigner, Ashley Vinson is a waiter/salesperson, Marisa is Mme. Nore, Lauren is Frau Fisher, Megan is Gertrud, Catie is Hupfer, and Gilley is Mme. Blumenblatt.
Oh, gosh, where to start? This Tuesday was preview day, and everything went really well. THe audiences were almost ALL fabulous and fun and laughed tons and everything. And everyoen remembered cues and lines and sets and props and all! I even got a 'Fucking Amazing' award from Lizzy because I knocked over a fence, but then Megan and I set it back up IN CHARACTER. Yeah! Matt went a bit too far with his sex-obssessedness, but whatever. He'll be great when we've got a more refined audience, I think.
It's so weird thinking that we OPEN TOMORROW. I remember when we were freaking out that it was tech week, and before that that it was almost tech week, and before that...I don't know. But it's a little bit sad that it's almost over. I mean, I never see Lauren or Ella during the day. Or Catie. And they're such fun! Lauren and I have a lot in common, and she's amazingly amazing. I'm so glad to have met her.
But show! Our costumes are FANTASTIC, if I do say so myself. Really, like EVERYONE'S. And our props are great too. I love all the fake food, even though it does make me really hungry to be around them for those beats. FUNNIEST MOMENT TODAY: Megan totally forgot that she was supposed to go on for beat 15, so when I told her she was rushing around collecting glasses and tray and letter, saying 'This isn't happening!' It was hysterical. Catie and I were literally rolling around laughing. Ah, life. Yay.
So, I think that's a fairly decent summary of what's been going on with it. We had no rehersal yesterday or the day before, so we were all really silly and not serious today, so that was amusing. But hey! For the past six? eight? weeks, we've had to stay until SIX. And the past two weeks, till SEVEN. So we need a break. And we'll get one soon. Aw.
