Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
I've recently started to watch this anime with mrunchosen.
Story: High school student Chiyo Sakura has a crush on schoolmate Umetarou Nozaki, but when she confesses her love to him, he mistakes her for a fan and gives her an autograph. When she says that she always wants to be with him, he invites her to his house and has her help on some drawings. Chiyo discovers that Nozaki is actually a renowned shoujo manga artist named Sakiko Yumeno. She then agrees to be his assistant in order to get closer to him. You would think that with a plot synopsis like that, that the anime would be all cute and shoujo style - it's not. It's a comedy series, sure there are cute moments and other shoujo like moments but it's mostly for the sake of comedy, not to be cute and romantic like the shoujo genre. Here is some gold from the latest episode (S01E08, aired Monday 25th August 2014).
Context: Here we have Kashima, Yuu (with the blue hair) walking with Mikoto, Mikoshiba. Usually Kamishma is being beat up for being tardy or downright stupid by her "senpai" and crush, Masayuki, Hori and during this weeks episode she spent, yes, SHE, spent the whole episode under the assumption that Masayuki was into reading shojou manga after one falls out of his bag, and well... she then gets the idea somehow that deep down, her senpai actually wishes that he could play the "Princess" in the play that the drama club is working on. It eventuates that Masayuki calls him out on this false notion in front of everyone and well... this is the next scene.
Yup. Masayuki threw a whiteboard at her and shes happy to point of how great a tool a whiteboard makes for throwing. Yes, this is why we love Kashima!
