I really do wish that the political system here in Australia would change in three ways (there are most likely more that I haven’t thought of):
nbsp; 1.Remove compulsory voting. Most of the idiots who get voted in are just people ticking whoever on the ballet paper to get it over and done with.
2. ake i one ballot paper, one vote. Not one ballot paper and like ten preferences because most parties probably only get in on preferences and because of the above.
3. hen a referendum is held the question needs to be worded properly. The wording of some of the referendum’s (particularly those on daylight savings) is just ridiculous and it's the wording that puts people off, even if they do like the idea.
I’ve just been thinking about a lot of political stuff lately, what with all that's going on in America at the moment and the looming election coming up here. I think I might be old enough to vote this time - hopefully and I know where mine will be going. I feel sorry for America because it seems that one way or another the country will be stuck with an asshole president/ruling party, though the situation here Downunder isn’t exactly any better :-/
The only politcal party that I can actually agree with is
The Australian Sex Party. There are some of
their policies which I don't agree on but the majority I can easily get behind the party as a whole
