So I actually played a little bit today! Yay! I took Brutha and Adrienne on a holiday to Seafoam Bach (I think that's what I called it at least) which is a cute holiday house I built for them at Twikii. They sunbathed and 'hooed and made sandcastles and 'hooed and played pool and 'hooed - you get the idea. But anyway, Carrot got a little face time as well and I figured "hell, the last time I made a picspam post was just after the embarrassing-Zeb-affair" so guess what? Picspam tiems!
Chrysoprase defied me by turning up unbidden just hours before Carrot's first child, Amore (it was all I could think of, so hush), was born. It was almost as though he was saying "quit cutting me out of the story, you mean bitch. I'm not such a bad guy, really. Look, I'll even show up to support my sister-in-law through her labour." Way to go OOC, Chrys. For the purpose of the plot, I'll ask you to pretend he was never here. Mmkay? Good.
Here's little Amore Ying, boolpropped to toddlerness. She inherited Carrot's nose, which I am absolutely delighted about. It's all buttony and cute. She also has very prominent brows, which makes the block game seem like a life-and-death struggle.
Anyway, what else are toddlers good for if not picspam?
Once Amore learned her toddler skills and the nursery rhyme, I sped forward to her birthday again. Oh, and if you couldn't tell by Carrot's undies in the previous picture, Karen is working on another sibling for Amore right now. :D
Tada! And we have one adorable little girl.
She immediately wanted to learn the family tradition, which she picked up remarkably fast. Now, initially I had thought that since Amy is just spare-spawn, I wouldn't make her skill at all. Well, I had another thing coming.
She immediately started rolling skilling wants like the blazes, so I hurriedly bought a violin and telescope for her. She whinges every time I direct her to stargaze, but I know she loves it really. She certainly likes the violin, even if her parents don't. They whine and cover their ears and I don't blame them. And doesn't she look just the part?
I imagine her as an independent, inquisitive wee sprite. She's always smiling.
And of course, she loves her daddy. She inherited his predestined hobby of gaming, so I bought them a gaming console. The two spend many happy hours challenging each other on SSX3. But Carrot's had a lot more practice at carving up the slopes and tends to leave his daughter in the dust.
This means she has to get hers back in whatever way she can. As soon as I saw this I was like "ohh, this is gonna be good".
"Hey, daddy."
"What is it, angel?"
ZOT.
"No more children for you!"
Haha, too late, kiddo.
"The burning, it burns!"
"LOL!"
Amore's super excited to be a big sister, too.
Speaks for itself, really. I wanted a cute shot of "OMG yay snow!" and instead I get exorcist eyes. Figures.
She grew up on a Friday, so Amore had a whole weekend to bum around and have fun. This mainly meant playing with dad, and when it snowed I couldn't resist making them build a snowman together.
Wow! I think that's the first nice snowman I've seen since, uh, Binky's one in Uni. This girl is positively rosey by her family's standards with a whopping four nice points. She gets them from her mum.
"Hon, if you wait three minutes the omelettes will be done and you can have real food."
"Can't wait that long. The baby says food now."
"But they're almost ready!"
"Sorry, can't argue with the beast within."
While pregnant, Karen was quite the coffee-hog. At the best of times her energy bar drains really quickly and the whole pregnancy thing just made it all the worse.
Ever had a Sim give birth with the coffee jitters? Do it. It's hilarious.
I also loved that the nurse character I created for the hospital scenes just happened to be walking by when Karen went into labour. I was imagining her going "stand back, I'm trained for this sort of- oh shit, what do I do?!"
Such supportive neighbours the Yings have!
Naturally, my game decided to flip me the bird and give me natural twins. A boy and a girl I named Tristan and Raewyn, for no particular reasons. Tristan is kind of because of Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small, played by the wonderful Peter Davison who, if you didn't know, also played Doctor Who back in the day. And I just like the name Raewyn. So there.
Anyway at this point I pretty much RAEGQUIT, so that brings this totally irrelevant sidetrack shrieking to its end. I'll see you next time, hopefully with something more substantial. :]
