Rose snuck in after the Doctor. The tunnel smelt damp- not to Rose’s liking. She couldn’t be spotted by the Doctor as she would be sent back, but she couldn’t let that happen, she needed to see Kellzie. If she didn’t go, they said the Doctor would be hurt.
Her knee’s were soaked in water and it was getting closer to nightfall. The darkness spread over the remains of the Tunnel that were still alit by Rose’s torch, although the batteries were draining.
She gagged as the smell of rotten water wafted her nostrils, but she carried on crawling, her knees were sore from the friction of her jeans rubbing with the water.
That’s when she heard scuffling on the thin metal above her.
“Hello?” She called out. But no answer, she sat there for a moment pondering weather to go left or right when she came to a turning. Then she heard the movement again.
“Doctor? Is that you? Come on now, its not funny!” Still no answer. This is what worried her; if it was the Doctor, then she knew that he wouldn’t be playing a practical joke at a time like this.
It all happened so suddenly; she heard whispers directly above her head, then she scampered out of the way as metal, transformed into dust fell from the tops of the tunnel. Someone, or something was trying to get in. She saw the tip of a drill slice sharply through the metal, and she began to crawl, faster and faster, but more holes appeared, as if the thing that was drilling knew exactly where she was going to next…she was trapped.
“ ‘Doctor’ you say your name is. Here on Jutpo, you’re very well known, you and your friend, well, very well known to BADA anyway.” A woman with Dark shoulder length hair stood in front of him. Her eyes glistening a watery blue and her complexion faire and soft looking. She was wearing a red silk, short dress, with a small V-neck, just like Kellzie had on the first time the Doctor and Rose laid eyes on her.
“BADA-” The Doctor went to question but missed his opportunity.
“Hush now!” She hissed, rather unpleasantly. After a short pause, they both heard shouting and struggling from the stairs. It sounded like Rose. ..It was Rose.
“Get off of me you Monsters!” she shouted as she was dragged up the stairs by two young and beautiful ladies, her top was getting dirty as she refused to stand up.
“Sinica! This one’s a struggler, I think we may need some help…she simply refuses to get up off the stairs.” Shouted a lady’s muted voice from the stair well.
“Then put her under Transformation!” hollered Sinica back, “gosh you should be smart enough, that’s why I hired you!” she cursed under her breath. Then turned to the Doctor.
“Your friend is very feisty…you should keep her under better control.”
The Doctor’s expression was a fierce one. Rose’s outcry was now dimming as she was dragged back down the stairs.
“Where are you taking her?” Demanded the Doctor.
“Oh, no where that special, she doesn’t deserve it.” Sinica’s crooked smile straightened out. “Or maybe you would like to go as well?” she said this more as a stipulate than a request.
“No need,” Replied the Doctor, “I volunteer!” He grinned then rushed out of the room before Sinica could call for help.
His long legs skipped steps as he ran down the stairs. His two hearts beating in unison. It felt as if they were going to jump out of his throat, but he carried on running, determined to catch up with Rose.
Then he stopped, just like that, stopped. In front of him appeared Rose- or at least it looked identical to Rose. The Doctor looked on, bewildered when the figure spoke.
“Stop, doctor.” her voice sounded hollow, “Leave me, stop chasing, I will be better off dead.” It had no emotions, nor did the face show any. He ignored this ‘Rose’ and continued running. He ran straight through her, as if she was a hologram or something. The figure turned after him, and cried out “ No, Doctor! You mustn’t break the Transformation!”
“So, what exactly do you plan to do to me?” questioned Rose, struggling free from Kellzie and the other woman’s grip. But they spoke no words, they just pulled back Rose’s arms and pushed her forcefully onto what looked like an upright, metal operation table, but it had straps attached to the sides of it. Doesn’t take a genius to work out what this is. Thought Rose, but the words that came out of her mouth were, “Get off of me! Wait until the Doctor gets here!”
The two women held down her arms, their sharp nails dug into the flesh of Rose’s arm, and hey strapped her down to the table. Rose laughed doubtfully, “You wont get away with this, you know!” But by this time she was already being wheeled up into a clear glass container, about her height. She screamed as they closed and locked the doors, leaving her inside, like tuna in its tin, but her screams were muffled.
She looked on as the two women left the room and stood behind what looked like a window with controls on the side they standing.
Kellzie shot Rose a vicious smile from the other side of the window and vastly pressed down a big red button in the middle of the control panel, and just as she did this, a blinding bright light surrounded Rose’s container. As usual, the Doctor bounded in, just in the nick off time- well just after- with a pair of spectacles, not his thick black ones, but a pair of eye protectors. The two women- now joined by two more- looked on in pure horror, as the Doctor pulled out a long, chunky silver devise. He twisted the top of it and pressed a button up against the glass container. The tip flashed an amazing blue, and almost hummed a tune.
“Damn!” said the doctor under his breath, “deadlock seal!”
He ran over to what looked like a hefty pipe at the corner of the room, and held his Sonic up against it. Again it flashed a blue light and water began to viciously squirt out of the pipe. He knew Rose was safe in her container, but she only had a limited amount of air so he pounded out of the room and watched as the water reached Rose’s knee height.
“What have you done?” snarled Kellzie, her face scrunched up in anger and disbelief.
“Oh, I just fiddled around with the circuit system abit, I mean, Rose is safe in her container, and the water will drain back out again after, so, anyone for coffee while we wait?” he smiled good-humouredly.
But then the water started to seep in through a small air gap in the window.
“Ah…didn’t think of that.” One side of his bottom lip curved down. “Well lets make a hasty retreat.” He said as he spotted a small air vent- just about his size. He grabbed a chair and hoisted himself on top of it, and slowly squeezed though, Kellzie fast on his trail. She fiercely pushed past him and started crawling away.
The Doctor stopped to help the other three women up but they just simply shunned him. Kellzie stopped and slanted her head. “Fool! They have been Transformed! They only take orders from Sinica- and she’s not here!” The Doctor gave them all an rueful look and then took one last glance at Rose, before escaping through the body-hugging air vent.
CHAPTER
Rose slowly opened her container and stepped out into a small puddle of water that hadn’t yet been drained.
She peered through the window where the three other women were stood there, like three helpless Oods, needing to be given an order. She gave a sinister smile then creaked open the door from where the women were standing. “The Transformation was broken…and I’d suppose, seen as you’ve been through the process, you wont mind telling me what happens if it goes wrong.” The ladies just stood there, they had no intention of speaking. “No. No, don’t tell me…I’m sure I can try it out my self…”
Rose stepped through the gateway of the door and picked up a good-for-nothing pistol and aimed it at the women. Then pulled the trigger.
There were three gun shots as three lifeless bodies slumped helplessly to the floor, Rose winced at the noise and backfire that the gun made.
“You see, that’s what happens when the Transformation is disturbed.” she said this more to herself as three dead bodies were oblivious to what she was saying. She let out a menacing laugh and carelessly trod over the bodies and made her way over to the air vent.
“Well, I’m sure the Doctor wont mind if I drop by…”
She crawled through the constricted tunnel, struggling to catch her breath.
“It would be ideal to be a little thinner at this stage!” she ‘hmphed’ to herself as she turned a few sharp corners. Eventually she reached a metal ladder, which was cold on her finger tips as she touched it, sending goose-pimples up her arm. At fist it was problematical for Rose to stand up right, but she managed it and started to climb the ladder.
The Doctor, with the exception of Kellzie pushing ahead, made his way back to the main CCTV room, where he had started before he went after Rose. There he saw Sinica staring him straight in the face as he lifted himself out. She had a pistol- a webly to be precise. He carefully made his way over to where Sinica- using the gun- had told him to stand.
“Easy there. Accidents happen with guns.” He said, vigilant with his words.
“Who said that killing someone is an accident?” she smiled sweetly, but the doctor saw it more obnoxiously than tunefully.
“So, by observation, you killed Rose.” she continued.
The Doctor looked confused. “What do you mean?”
“Well you may have rescued Rose’s body- kept it safe and sound, but not Rose. Oh, no Rose is dead.” she laughed under her breath. “Observe.”
She grabbed his arm and dragged him over to two flat screens that lay on the controls, she now had the Webly to his head. She pressed a button with a symbol on it, a sort of side-wards triangle…like a play button. As soon as she did this, the screens played in motion. One of the room where Rose’s container stood- but no longer with Rose in it. The other screen showed beyond the window- and there was Rose! She held a pistol at arms length to the three female’s bodies. Then there were three gunshots. The Doctor gawped in horror at the second screen.
“B-but, Rose wouldn’t kill anybody!” The Doctor almost spat the words.
“Ooh, Rose wouldn’t do this, Rose wouldn’t do that!” Remarked Sinica mockingly. “Well wake up Doctor man, she did!”
“That’s not Rose!” Shouted the Doctor. “What have you done to her?!”
Sinica and Kellzie laughed in Unison, but then Sinica shot Kellzie a look as if to tell her to shut up. “you mean, what have you done, Doctor.” she stated.
