The Grand Baby is fine - she saw her first fireworks on the 4th and was most impressed. "Wow! Stars boom! Wow!"
I thoroughly enjoyed P4, saw it twice, understand why it's made a billion dollars, and still it felt like things were missing. I miss Elizabeth, and Will, and Norrington; I miss Pintel and Ragetti and Cotton - (maybe they're all with the Pearl in that bottle? Cotton's parrot and the monkey are...) The Captain needs someone, I think, to provide both a keen reflective eye and a mirror. Someone to "see" him for the audience, alongside the requisite villains, if you get my drift. Angelica's character wasn't written for that, and wasn't given much to do, IMHO, except provide backstory and exposition for the plot. I love Penelope Cruz, and found that a bit disappointing. Still, I had a wonderful time watching the film :-)
I think we're all spoiled by the wonderful fanfiction that has been written over the years, stories that have the luxury of expanding on the plotlines and characters and of taking them where we want to see them go.

I suppose we were spoiled by Elizabeth (maybe more so by the Elizabeth we created here!), but I came to expect more in a female foil for Jack. That said, I will definitely own the DVD and enjoy it again :)
My boys.... they are getting BIG (#1 starts kindergarten in a few weeks, #2 starts nursery school) They are so different and yet they are each others' biggest fans and best friends. They love their mama and keep her on the go (pulled out a long, silver hair this morning... and my diplomat elder son told me it was "blonde"... never had a blonde hair in my life... LOL)
*Hugs* good to chat... off to post a J/E ficlet/drabble, even though it's mostly Ron/Hermione I've been reading pathologically lately... Post-Potter depression, you know ;)
