Where to begin...?
My summer vacation began about a week ago, and it's been good to be home with my favorite little man. Bought him his first Jack Sparrow action figure yesterday -- it comes with a Kraken that can eat him. A little gruesome, but interesting. Hubby insists its the ugliest thing he's ever seen ("Foul... breath...")
I owe several of my favorite writers a good read --
djarum99 ,
fried_flamingo, and
salr323 in particular look like they have been very prolific while I've been preoccupied, and I am in the process of catching up :) I hadn't realized how long it had been since I sat and gave a good read; I had mentioned in the spring that I had read Stephenie Meyers' spellbinding Twilight series, and just finished reading her novel The Host, which was also compelling. Meyers has a very simple, clean storytelling style that is impossible not to be drawn into.
I also have two very intense projects underway... more details later about both of these ;) And with a little help (and just a smidgen of free time) I think I might even have a chapter of fic (that I started over a year ago) to post soon. (Do I even bother? It's just been SO long, I wonder if anyone's still reading that even followed in the beginning...)
Off to read December's Children, then start the AWE:Redux. Happy Summer, everyone!
