I must admit... I am shocked, saddened... devastated, a little, I think, by the death of Heath Ledger!
I am a very big fan of the movie "A Knight's Tale" -- which I show parts of in my class every year when we study the Middle Ages.
But I immediately thought yesterday of River Phoenix, collapsing in front of the Viper Room in 1993... and how gutted I felt that day to know that such a brilliant young life was cut short. I don't know if it's partly because his daughter is the same age as my son, so I feel the loss for his family, but I am much more saddened by his death than I would have expected... may he rest in peace, and may comfort be known to his loved ones... especially his little girl.
