We have a CultureFest at my school today. I'm going for the food and friends, and also because I'm the escort for the German dancers. Hurray for lederhosen! I found some weird yaoi anime yesterday, and when I say yaoi, I do mean yaoi. Not shonen-ai, but very, very much yaoi. The first one I watched wasn't very good (Fujimi Orchestra). The characters weren't well developed, the plot jumped around, and it just didn't make me fall in love with it. The second one (Level C) was a little better despite the improbable storyline and the stereotypical seme/uke pairing. The uke had the freakiest eyes, kind of like SpongeBob puppydog eyes. I couldn't stand to look at them. Good thing they were closed most of the time.
Watch 'em if you want, but they are worthy of an NC-17 rating, so beware.
Now to prove I'm not a perverted freak, here's a recommendation for a normal book I'm reading right now. It's called Eight Seconds and it's by Jean Ferris. It's about a boy, eighteen years old, who goes to rodeo camp and meets Kit, another rodeo boy. When he finds out that Kit's gay, though, he has to figure out to deal with his own reaction and the reaction of the other rodeo guys.
I'm only a little more than half through, but I really like it. The beginning is a little slow, so you have to stick with it. I recommend this book to anybody who has seen Brokeback Mountain (minor similarities with the attitudes towards homosexuality) or who has an interest in the West, rodeoing, etc.
I think this is my longest entry yet. I need to go get ready for today. Until next time!
