Just another manic.. um.. Tuesday.
OK... I just gotta say... life is good. I'm honestly not sure how I managed this current run of luck, but, damn.
At any rate...
This last weekend was crazy-busy, but overall good. Friday after work I headed into Madison to spend the evening with aldous which is always a good thing. Saturday morning, he had to go to work, and I went over to see Mom for our weekly shopping/lunch trip, and that was also a good thing. After that, I caught a quick nap, then headed in Milwaukee to help Lisa do the finishing touches on her packing. Then we relaxed for a few hours before crashing. I got cuddled by her very friendly kitty. Heh.
Sunday... the chaos blossoms and grows. Around 9:00am, the car of people arrived: my mom, my brother, my brother's best friend, my brother's girlfriend. We obtained the U-Haul and loaded it, which took approximately 3-3.5hrs. The actual driving portion of the move went without incident. Our "work crew" was tired and wanted to just be done, so, the unloading portion of our day took a lot longer. At least it felt that way, though I guess in actuality, it really didn't. We grabbed a quick bite from McD's midway through, then around 6:00pm-ish, the crew headed off, and Lisa and I continued to organize things. aldous arrived around 6:30pm to help us, which was well-timed as I don't think Lisa and I could have rearranging the furniture without assistance. The rest of the evening was spent unpacking, organizing, and eating pizza. Good stuff.
Monday... hooray for three day weekends. I woke up feeling like I had been hit by about ten trucks, and as Lisa felt the same, we decided to take it easy. Got up, had some breakfast, and we did then work on unpacking/organizing for a few hours until it was time for late lunch. After then, my ambition was totally gone in wake of the massive pain, so we though naptime would be good, though it turns out none of us slept very much. The rest of the day was very lazy, which was nice. Lisa headed off to sleep shortly after dinner (granted, our dinner was quite late in the evening), aldous and I finished off an episode of BtVS before following suit.
Tuesday... back into the routine.
All in all, a very enjoyable weekend!
