I'm awake! I'm awake! Gaaahhhh.... I don't wanna be awake.
So, I was waking up early today (6am) to go in to work for a little bit of working. Be there by 8am, sort of thing. Hadn't bothered to reset my 5am alarm, was planning on a snooze button marathon.
I got woken up 5:30 ish, by an unholy =crump=. I had just slapped the snooze button, was settling back into lazy lethargy, and this noise occured. I swear I levitated a few inches over the bed, and my hair all stood on end.
My first thought? Oh shit! Did they hit the house?! Then I sat up enough to peer past the curtain at the head of my bed, and spotted it.
An accident, yet another on this road of perils, right across the road from my house. Poor guy looks like he fell asleep at the wheel, coming home from night shift. Took out the school in session signal, and hugged a tree. Didn't hug it too bad, he had to climb the ditch and deal with all the branches and bushes and wooden debris on the ridge line before he smacked into the tree.
Ah well, that's why they call them accidents, ne? Far too many on this road for my peace of mind, but that's life. I have seen four, seen evidence of at least two more (broken bits of car glass or plastic, and our flattened tree, along with a flattened school sign more than once), and I'll bet there's been more that left no evidence. This road is a hazard!
By the way, the 'did they hit the house' thought? Valid thought. The concussive waves made the house quake as well. The tow truck is finally here, though. Damn. Poor guy. He has to be only recently out of high school. That sucks, but c'est la vie.
In other news, I don't wanna be awake. :)
I had a whole list of things to gossip about this weekend, but you know what? I don't remember them. -sigh- I'm up, I'm dressed, I'm brushed and washed and moisturized, and my hair is pretty and shiny and sleek after its session with a brush, but... I don't have to do anything until 7am. Gah....
