Now silent and dark
But not safe
Flaring shouting gone
But not safe
Must huddle deeper against the cold
Matted brother and sister
So hungry and cold, so hungry
Where the milk soft belly?
Where the warm soft fur?
The reek of hunter!
Not safe! Not safe!
“No, you are safe now,” Radagast murmured.
Sniffing the milk on the rag, the starving cub soon latched on. Once its belly was full, Radagast tucked the baby in his satchel. Outside the den, the mother stiffened in her blood.
Warg or wolf, the hunters cared not. And neither did the brown wizard.
